Forget about the brand of fuel. Engines don't intermittently cut out because they've been fed supermarket fuel, or 95 RON instead of 97 RON.
If there was fuel starvation, the lambda sensor would have probably picked up the problem. If the throttle is electronically operated via a stepper motor (likely at that age) then there may be an electrical problem somewhere between the actuator at the pedal and the butterfly valve in the throttle body.
Like many intermittent electrical problems it may not be easy to isolate. But don't waste your time trying to change fuel.
