Toyota Yaris - Toyota Coolant - Which one? 5 Jul 2010 (Forum)
The service sheet says that there are two types of coolant, Long Life Coolant (LLC) - changed every 3 years or 40000 miles (whichever is sooner), thereafter every 2 years or 20000 miles Super Long Life Coolant (S-LLC) - every 10 years or 100000 miles (whichever is sooner) The car has done 36000 miles. If the coolant is S-LLC then obviously I don't have to worry, but can these 2 coolants be recognised visually by colour? -

Salt and the road surface reservoir 30 Mar 2010 (Forum)
You just think it`s all gone - but you notice that ever so slight - lighter colour of the Motorway road surface. A trick of the light, perhaps? Days and sometimes two or three weeks pass - birds lay eggs and there is the dawn chorus of Spring. -

He just likes the look of them. Car will be used for commuting about 400 miles a week. He is looking at the older S80's upto about year 2000. having done some research these engines are audi sourced from the old shape audi 100/a6 and also came in the VW transporter van. Are the S80's good solid cars. Engine wise any known problems? -
Frankfurt - Limoges, route advice? 18 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Hello all, first post for a while. Here´s a good one for any of you into cross-European routes and routing. We´re heading out from Frankfurt across France to Argenton-sur-Creuse, just north of Limoges. I´m keen to stay on the German autobahn network as it´s free, and to avoid Paris which is where the TomTom seems to try to send me past. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 98 1.9 TD Wandering to left 8 Feb 2009 (Forum)
My 306 has a tendency to slowly wander to left when I take my hands off the wheel. It's not violent but means I have to keep some pressure on wheel to stop it. It's had a new O/S ball joint and a new O/S droplink. It also klunks a bit when turning at low speeds - parking etc. Any ideas what this could be and how to correct it? One more thing - I think I have a glow plug out as it's a bit lumpy when started from cold and after a bit of revs it's fine. -
Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - 1997 2.8 Heavy steering after PAS pipe change 16 Jan 2009 (Forum)
(I assume the pipes were correct as breakers said they were, and garage who fitted them didn't mention anything) The garage said the s/hand pipes were in good condition (which they were), and replaced the P/S fluid with mineral PS fluid which they said was required by VW's. Since then the steering is heavier than it was before (but still power assisted). -
Volkswagen Golf VI (2009 - ) - An expensive successor..... 24 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I have been pricing up a new 1.4TSI 5dr hatchback to replace my nearly 4 year's old MKV 1.6FSI 'SE'. There are only 3 models on offer i.e. 'S' 'SE' and 'GT'. My biggest gripe so far is that a sunroof in no longer an optional extra on the 'S' or 'SE' only on the tarty, sporty 'GT' However about £17.5k seems to be what I'll need to pay, which includes metallic paint, parking sensors and a steering wheel that will enable me to control my radio!! -
Fog Lights Are For Fog!! 12 Jul 2008 (Forum)
i.e a two second gap, i personally like to see plenty of tarmac between me and the vehicle in front but there`s always someone eager to fill the gap oblivious to the fact that my truck takes longer to stop the `his` car! -
Motoring getting cheaper? 10 Jun 2008 (Forum)
If the equivalent vehicle was available today I reckon it would sell for around £12000, which is quite low inflation over a quarter of a century. I remember my parents house being worth around £25000 in the mid 80's , it's now worth 10 times that, so if cars had gone the way of houses your Metro would be costing £65000 these days. Blimey! I also remember the Astra GTE costing around £17000 in the early 90's, the modern day VXR costs around the same today. -
