Is this just common sense? 17 Jul 2006 (Forum)
This article is an American one. It's about analysing virtually every aspect of fuel efficiency in a four by four. Interesting if you have the time to plough through it. I have no real idea whether the stats hold up - I imagine they do? Anybody want to comment on the methodology before I go hunting for ports in my car to come to same (pretty obvious) conclusions? -

205 GTi on unleaded? 31 May 2006 (Forum)
Hi there can anyone tell me if I can run a 1990 Peugeot 205 1.9GTi (pre-cat model) on unleaded fuel without any adjustments or loss of performance. I have been told that normal 95RON unleaded would be ok but local peugeot dealer said I could not. Someone else has also now said that super unleaded 98RON would be fine - I now have no idea! -
vw polo stalling 24 Apr 2006 (Forum)
My friends car, a vw polo petrol (circa 1996) keeps on stalling when the clutch is pressed in, for e.g. at traffic lights. There was a hose near the fuel regulator which was loose, we pushed it back into its hole and the stalling stopped for a while. But its now back. Sorry i don?t know the engine size, but i think its around 1.4 or 1.6 Can anyone give any ideas please where to start looking? -
c15 ijector pump failed, help! 23 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Citroen C15 injector pump failed..fuel getting to the pump and the solenoid is tested ok. It's a Lucas pump on a non turbo 1.9d. How hard is this to change and set up. I'm waiting for the manual to arrive, looks like the cambelt / engine mounting has to be removed to gain access, are there any problems setting it up when refitted, timing etc? -
diesel auxilliary heater - 1999 Rover 75 21 Nov 2005 (Forum)
My car is fitted with an auxillary heater that cuts in if its less than 5 degrees outside - can this temperature setting be changed as it takes ages to warm up if its just a bit higher than this even though the temperature in the car must be lower! Would be ideal if it was 7 or 8 degrees and must be better for fuel economy as well as engine is up to temperature 3 times faster!! -
Bluefin 3 Nov 2005 (Forum)
I've been told that this Bulefin reprogrammes the ECU to increase BHP by about 5%, quite how I dont know. Does anyone have any experience of Bluefin. The fuel economy of the 2.5 Duratech isn't the worlds best, with Bluefin fitted are we talking gallons to the mile? Is it reliable? Etc TIA AdyBee... -

Camry 3.0 "B" service advice 9 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Value of the car does not justify the £300+ bill any more. There is no Haynes manual available so my questions are 1. where is the fuel filter and what is the replacement procedure 2. anything special to do with the coolant replacement Thanks for the advice Steve -

Skippy the Megane 17 Jan 2005 (Forum)
The HT coils were replaced about a year ago, so I don't think they could have died by now. Would a fuel problem be possible? -
Car less than 2k? 2 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Backroom, What would you buy if your looking for something cheap, reliable, dont want to spend too much money (i.e not over 2k but willing to spend slightly more if the right car comes along) and something my mom would consider still to have some street cred? This will be a little run about car locally, so preferably cheap on fuel, any help or ldeas? Thanks in advance -
Mercedes recall? 1 Dec 2004 (Forum)
A friend of mine has an 04 plate one,and has rung Mercedes after hearing a story, but Mercedes are keeping their cards close to their chest, and he can't seem to get the required information. The car seems quite sluggish under acceleration, and he has tried various makes of diesel fuel to see if that could have been the problem, but to no avail. We need to know as a matter of urgency. Depreciation cost 31 Aug 2004 (Forum)
My new Audi will be ready on 1st September when I trade in my 3 year old one. Ignoring costs of fuel, insurance, servicing, road fund licence (all more or less common to any car) and limiting my calculation only to depreciation and loss of interest on the £20k+ originally tied up, my car has cost me £269 per month. -
Aluminium tank cleaner 7 Aug 2004 (Forum)
On my Renault Premium 44tonne truck, which is 10 months old,my fuel tank is aluminium. However, even so soon,it looks like it is 10 years old, never mind 10 months, and is starting to pit. What can I use thats inexpensive to polish it,bearing in mind it's me that's having to fork out, because my company won't,so I don't want to pay a kings ransom? -
Did I hear this right? 6 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Whilst it's impossible to condemn anyone for wanting what we take for granted, the implications of this rate of growth on future fuel prices, the world economy and the environment are alarming especially since oil reserves are apparently on the wane. -

I'm sure they are platinum as that's what they fitted when the car was new. I heard somewhere once that they should last 100000? not sure, car runs ok with reasonable fuel economy for size of engine. thanks in advance.
