  The experience is similar to driving an automatic uphill when you try to accelerate and feel the gear shift down before there is acceleration except my car is a manual! The car is an Audi A3 1.8 petrol manual built 1999. Air mass meter was replaced about 18 months ago so I am sure it isn't that (thankfully!). My hope is that maybe there is some crud in the fuel tank which can be blasted out with some fuel cleaner/additive and premium unleaded on a fast stretch of motorway.

  Hi, I have a 1998 audi A4 2.4 V6 117000k which I must say I love but recently it has developed this annoying intermittent fault. Sometimes when starting the car wether it be warm or cold it fires up but stalls straight away.

  Just thought it would be worth making people aware of Audi TT sensitivity to different tyres on the front. In a nutshell 2005, TT 190 fitted originally with Michelin Pilots all round. After about 13,000 miles ( but only nomimal wear), suffered a punture in front offside.

  Hi all, I have a mysterious water leak on my Audi Coupe Gt 2.0i 5 cylinder. I changed the coolant last night. Then I ran the engine to remove any air. I then went to the shops and after about one minutes driving I noticed a red light flash on the dashboard indicating low coolant.

  Seen a few SE specs about but wouldnt mind a Sport version, whats the ride like is the sport, Heard Audi's suspension can be pretty harsh...   Morning folks, I have very recently (Friday morning) purchased a 1996/P plate Audi A6 2.6 SE Auto.....saloon Drove it home & went out for a drive in her that weekend, loverly to drive, but went out to the car yesturday (Saturday) morning & it wouldn't start. I had a mess around with her yesturday by... 1 - checked all the fuses & relays (swapping with some out of a breakers yard) 2 - plenty of fuel in her - I checked the pressure at the fuel filter & there's plenty of fuel squirting out !

  I am obviously no engineering genius but does this require a special tool to deal with?, is it a conspiracy to make me pay extortionate labour charges? ie: is it an audi specific tool? Hopefully I have described the problem and someone can point me to the right shelf in halfords. many thanks and sorry for being a complete numpty.

  Hi all, The car is Audi 80 tdi 1992. The problem started about a year ago. The engine stops (cut off) while I am driving at a slow speed (below 30 mph) and when I try to start it again the glow plugs light comes on but dim.

  I've just bought (2 months ago) a 53 plate Audi A3 2.0 FSI. It's been back to the dealer three times now under warranty to investigate a steering clunk. It happens at low speeds on full left lock - typically during parking. It's quite loud and I can feel it in the steering.

  Hi there, I've just purchased an Audi A4 1.6 on an N, and I can't fill the tank past the 3/4 level with a standard unleaded fuel nozzle from any petrol station. A mate with a BMW 330i said it happens to his, but all he does is wait for a minute and then he can fill it to the brim.

  My wife has an Audi S3 which she needs for work every day. On Friday she noticed the indicators were only working intermittently, then latterly not at all. Saturday morning I phone the Audi service department (it's still under warranty), take it in and they announce it needs a new switch which of course isn't in stock.

  Yesterday I bought a set of new front wipers for my 1996 A4 from Euro Car Parts for about £19. They are the genuine Audi part (8D1 998 003) with notes on the box in several European languages. When I tried to fit them I found that they would only latch into place on the wiper arm if turned upside down on the screen.

  I'm toying with the idea of selling my Audi and buying a diesel, since my daily round trip to work is about to increase from 3 miles to 30. It's a Coupe 20V manual, 1990/H, 142K, no service history until I bought it, but lots of useful bills since (cambelt, brake discs, shock absorbers and more).

  I have a retired friend who is being driven insane by what appears to be a very subtle intermittant fault that all the so called expert engine tuners can not get to grips with. The car in question is a 1993 Audi 2 litre E Model. Now the fault. Somedays he can travel 30 miles or so on the motorway at legal speed without any problems either with the engine or transmission. (it is not an automatic transmission model).
