  Good afternoon, I am thinking of changing the coolant in my car.  Does this car have an easily located radiator drain valve to facilitate this procedure?  I will ensure the heater is turned on and all airlocks removed during the drain and refill.

  MY DEALERSHIP SPOTTED SOME OIL IN THE COOLANT DURING A MAJOR SERVICE TODAY. THEY WANT DO A PROPER DIAGNOSTIC NEXT WEEK. I HAVE ONLY EVER HAD THE CAR SERVICED BY VW DEALERSHIPS. 21000 MILES AND REGISTERED MARCH 2010.  FSH. WHY WOULD THIS PROBLEM OCCUR AND WHAT ARE THE LIKELY ASSOCIATED COSTS OF GETTING THE PROBLEM FIXED?

  Focus hatch  a 1.8 petrol  january 2008 57plate Mk2  done 22500 miles from new one owner over a period of time the coolant level drops from max to clearly below min level on expansion tank, and I have to top it every 3-4 months, Ford dealer did pressure test showed no leak. I wondered if anyone else has this,  or is it a normal feature of this vehicle ?.

  how do you know if the coolant system is blead correctly ? the heater is blowing hot and the bleed valve at the back of the engine has a little water coming out of it when you remove the screw but the valve near the thermostat has no water coming out except if you squeeze the pipe?

  The main metal coolant pipe requires replacing as its cracked. Attached to this pipe is the radiator hose and a smaller hose from the expansion bottle. As the other end of the pipe attaches to the engine and is well hidden under the inlet manifold, I would like to know how accesible is this metal pipe end and how does it attach to the engine?

  Hi all, coming home late last night on the M25, came out of road works at 20mph and put the cruise back on, reached 45mph and message flashed up " low coolant stop safely" as i put my foot on the brake and cruise disengaged the message went out, and on checking the lkevel its fine, whats that all about? Ta.

  The coolant hose which connects the throttle body > heater matrix > cylinder head has a small split / hole in it. I replaced it a few years ago with a genuine VW part, which cost about £50, but its now leaking again.

  Where is the coolant temp sender located on a K11 Nissan Micra? The Haynes manual seems to indicate that I should follow the radiator top hose back to the thermostat and the sender is located behind that on the engine block.

  I have a VW MK2 Golf 1300. Two weeks ago I put in a new radiator. Unfortunately now the coolant temperature dial stays at zero. Has the temperature sensor (fixed on thermostat housing) become faulty? Is it a coinsidence that it has become faulty after a radiator change or is there more to it?

  A few days ago i noticed on my dashboard telling me to check the collant level, which i did. I\'ve topped up the coolant level, but i\'m still getting a flashing light with the same message. The temperature gauge is in the middle, where it should be. Any ideas what can be causing this? Cheers

  Hi I have had a re-occuring problem with my 1997 Audi A3 1.6. Coolant/water seems to be getting into the No.1 cylinder / piston bore. A cylinder pressure test has shown a leak however the escaping air seems to be coming from somewhere around the top of the manifold inlet.

  Paked the car up to go into the shop after a 10minute drive, came out 45mins later to find a rather significant coolant leak (Approx 2 litres)  Couldn't see where it was coming from then, so topped it up (I had spare coolant in the car after my previous problems)  and drove home with no problems. Popped the bonnet and ran the engine to see if I could see anything going on and to my surprise, when I revved the engine, there was a squirt of coolant out of the back of the engine.

  this morning after a short run to the shop on returning there was a black coffee esq leak running down the slope from under the car. looking under you could see it coming out from the under tray took it to a mates garage and the coolant header tank is empty and seemed a brown stain inside. rad side of things all bone dry water pump looks ok boiled coolant appears to be running from somewhere high up on the back of the engine but couldn't easily see where any suggestions guys?

  I have an MG ZR+ thats done 100K After say 15 miles the coolant level goes down but if I release the tank cap slowly the coolant level rises again, but I still have to add 1 cm of water. There is some mayo on the dipstick and petrol cap. Sometimes the temp gauge drops to zero from the normal position, it never goes high though.

  My year 2000 1.4 16v Rover 200 has recently started to lose coolant. It has 105,000 miles on the clock and I have to top up the coolant level every 60-100 miles. It had the head gasket replaced in November 2007 (10,000 miles ago) and the oil seems to be OK. However, I have noticed a white/blue/green residue across the radiator.
