  Even after a long run the exhaust tailpipe shows a very black appearence inside, and on certain occasions when pull away the engine can \'pink\' slightly. The performance is reasonable (In line with HJ\'s Car by Car-description) and the car produces 36 mpg. In all other respects the car drives perfectly. My local Ford dealer thought the performance to be in line with other 1.6 Focus\'s but I believe they only did a cursory check.

  (Yes it's superficial I know but I'll probably be keeping it for 3+ years). How come they only made the S afterwards, and then recently the SX (Which I can't afford) Is there another moel in between that I'm somehow missing, o if I were to buy say a 2002 1.6 I'd have to make do with the S specification?

  The air cooled engine sounded brand new. I thought they had been out of production since the late 70's or has a company started making them again? (Didn't get a chance to speak to the owner.) If they are being made again a whole new generation will experience the abysmal hill climbing ability, noise and dodgy handling that I endured in the 70's in my Uncles 1300 cc one.

  Hi, I am risking not getting a reply to this as it is Saturday night but here goes... Mate\'s 96 Clio 4-door: the driver\'s window winder handle is showing its age as the knob you hold keeps coming off or jamming when turning. I suggested swapping the whole handle with one of the virtually unused ones on the back doors.

  It's done it again and my clever mb man has gone to greener fields..however he said it was caused by a float in the plenum chamber becoming stuck as a result of the backfire...now I'm quite clever mechanically, but I don't know where to look and my library doesn't have any manuals later than '84.   ve had it has always hovered around the 35MPG mark, although if you fill it when hot & do a reasonable run up say the A1M then you?ll see 43MPG or so on the trip. It?s been run 95% on Shell V Power although it makes zero difference to the consumption it does make it run a little smoother & since I also get fuel vouchers every 2-3 months it?s worthwhile. So it?s sold back to the dealer it came from, they valued it as a buy in with 84K miles at £7K but actually gave me £10K for it against another S So to overall costs, including 4 x tyres, insurance, finance costs It has cost 29 pence per mile if you use the £10K valuation or 37 PPM if you use £7K.

  Hi there, I have been having issue with my Nissan Qashqai 1.6dci 2015 diesel. Around 3 weeks back, while driving had battery light and Red EML appear, and soon after got s/s failure, forward emergency braking light and traction light. I stopped the car and called breakdown and they diagnosed the Alternator was not charging. Had to drive back home 35 miles on battery, luckily made it.
