  The next thing is the whole dashboard counter lit up in pretty lights, the dials for the speed and rev counter, temp and the fuel status where doing their own thing. This must be one of the things that Renault dont tell you about but keep it for their engineers/mechanics. The dials continued to do their own thing for a bit and since I had had no luck trying to stop it I decided to make for the nearest Renault garage to see if they had a handy hammer (Pun) or they could remedy it.

  I have a 1997 Renault Megane hatchback - vgc, full service history, two careful lady owners (of whom I am the second). On Saturday evening, when I opened the boot to put my bag inside, the boot lid came off both its hinges, clobbering me on the head on its way down and coming to rest on the rear bumper.

  So we purchased the new Renault Clio alpine esprit. Within 20 days the car started making a really bad noise that would not go away, I took it to the dealer they supplied me with a Hyundai hire car while they tried to work out what was wrong with it. 1 week later I have been told it need a full new gear box.

  Hi, I have a Renault Mégane 1.5 dci 2007/57 The check injection keeps showing up, I have had the 4 injectors changed, changed all the glow plugs, changed the fuel filter and the air filter. The code was wiped.

Anyway, at the weekend I'm off to the Bristol area to look at some Renault Grand Scenic 1.5dCi Dynamique tomtom. 2010 and thereabouts., sensible miles. This will be a down grade from my Outlander (imo anyway), but is more practical, £30 tax and good mpg. Never had a French car Just wondering about your experiences with one?

  My 2002 Renault Espace Race 2.2 DCI is 4 & 1/2 years old with 45K and has been owned by me from new. 2 months ago the air conditioning (with climate control) stopped working. I took it to Kwik Fit who offer a re gasssing service at £44.95.

  Anyway, had a final drive in her today (before they came to look), taking her 320 miles to Telford and back, and the lovely, loping gait on the motorway, the supple, well damped ride, and that truly brilliant Renault dCi engine are going to be sorely missed. Smooth, quiet, refined, and despite press on driving, returned 46 mpg on the trip. Will also miss the toys and gadgets, the comfort, and the airy, light interior.

  My Renault Clio (R Reg 1.2RL old shape 37k) has recently developed this strange grinding noise from the rear passenger side when I touch the brakes. It is not the brake discs or shoes as I've had 2 different mechanics look at it and there is loads of life left on them.

  It's a perfectly good car, but if it won't run reliably it will have to go. I'm probably going to try a diagnostic at a Renault dealer, but if that doesn't fix it..... I'm also wondering whether the increasing frequency of failure is a clue. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's cold, warm or hot. Any new ideas?

  Hi my 04 clio 1.2 was involved in a minor bump yesterday morning, light impact with another car damaging the front of mine, no airbags etc deployed. Since this the car wont start, I rang renaults who informed me my car does not have a fuel shut off switch, and even it did I believe the car should turn over.. I cant see any broken wires, or any blown any fuses, and my key remote still works perfectly locking and unlocking the car, however the immobilser light remains on all the time, and flashes fast when you attempt to start engine it is obviously not being deactivated as usual.

  hi all .... i've had a renault clio I RT auto 94 for 7 months... after driving a frontera 2.2 lwb for the past 8 years .....wow its cheap to run.... well it was, its gone from about 40mpg to under 20mpg if im gentle.... its running normally.... i did the usual checks, all connections, plugs, leads... i took the air filter off and ran it, i can see lots of fuel coming from the single injector into the throttle body, i know visually there is too much fuel going in but i dont know the cause.. i'm told the lambda sensor would cause this but im not sure if im testing it right, putting the multi-meter probes into the terminals on the multi connector what readings should i get.... what else should i be testing ?...

  First couple of times this happened I stopped, looked and listened for telltale signs and, when found nothing, drove on again. The local Renault garage is very helpful normally but not on this. It may be linked (or not) but I had new injectors about 5000 km ago. Has anyone else had this - if so, solutions, please. If not, any ideas for me to offer on to the garage (my technical French is getting better than my conversational with things like this!)?

  Renault Laguna 1.8,16v,bought the car knowing the clutch was slightly slipping and engine idle slightly low,since put a new clutch in the engine has been plagued by a misfire that would put any sa80 to shame,changed the lambda sensor(bosch),4 individual pencil packs(the german ones),new battery,oil and filters,compression test (all ok)had a diagnosis test and came back ok,its had timing belt and pulleys too but still the misfire continues to kangaroo hop down the road when under load between 1000/2000 and when throttling on when i a high gear a poping in the engine can be heard,been told it could be the throttle position switch or the ECU thats causing the problem,need to know as this car costing me a fortune and buggin me that i can't get to the bottom of it,any one with the similar problems that may be able to advise,much obliged.
