  My Peugeot Boxer van was vibrating while running, a main dealer ran diagnostics, could not rectify the problem, suggested a compresion test & results showed low compression and advised a replacement engine.

  My wife’s Peugeot 307CC developed a cooling problem. After returning from 30+ miles of motorway driving the engine was running cool, water and oil temp gauges both low and the radiator fan was on continuously. The cooling system header tank showed a water level between min and max so not much water had leaked out.

  I'm not sure if the problems are related. I'm assuming this is loose connection, faulty sensor, or a Peugeot electrical Gremlin of sorts, any ideas?

  Hi there. I own a 2000 'X' (D9) registered Peugeot 406 HDi 90 Saloon with 129,800 miles on it. I have 'problem' where when I accelerate moderately or full foot to the floor above 1500rpm (ie, when the turbo kicks in) there is an audible hissing noise coming from the engine bay.

  Hi could someone possibly help me with some info on my non starting peugeot 306. ive had all the same problems as everyone else on here with the car just randomly not starting over a period of a couple of weeks. after reading a few forums on here i narrowed the problem down to the low pressure fuel pump in the tank which was making no noise and not kicking in on the second turn of the ignition.

  The reason i ask is that i have a 2.2 (2001 '51' plate) with 140k miles that has just started showing the dreaded dash warning "clean particulate filter - urgent" for which my local Peugeot dealers more or less want me to re-mortgage the house! I've read here and on other forums that the filter can very easily be cleaned (but dealers don't like to offer this). To make life easier i'm looking to buy a replacement (used) filter from either eBay or one of the part-finder services, then get that cleaned up and ready, do a simple swap, then (if it's still in reasonable condition) clean up and sell mine to recoup some of my costs.

  It doesn't get hot ever. Oil levels fine. No smoke No tapping No Knocks No warning lights apart from the usual Peugeot Airbag Light. The only bad thing I've done is running out of fuel which of coarse made the Engine management light come on, 10 months ago. The first garage I had it in was a fuel systems specialists and he came back with no answers.

  I've been looking for a safe and cheap (to buy and run) used car in Cornwall. I have found a G reg 309 GLi Peugeot. It's done 160, 000 miles, has no tax, 12 months MOT, no PAS, 1.9 litre diesel engine. It's being sold for £300 by a guy that looks as if he could be trustable. I took it for a test drive and it seemed solid enough (don't have any experience of driving old diesels) though it might need new brakes (I only have modern car brakes to compare it to).

  Its booked into the dealer tomorrow as we've a family wedding to travel to this weekend but I'm not sure if the "peugeot gold" warranty covers this type of fault and want to equip myself with a bit of knowledge (if I can) before they plug it into the computer for fault code analysis. Any help gratefully received.

  I have just purchased a Peugeot 306 SR Sedan for my wife, which has totally changed my opinions of this marque! 8 years old, with only a genuine 14,800 miles under the wheels, and FPSH, by golly it rides and handles rather well for one that looks so staid, and the accuracy of steering can teach many a newer car I have driven a lesson or two.

  Hi, I have a 1996 Peugeot 1.9TD, and it has recently developed a central locking problem. The car had been standing for a couple of weeks whilst I was away, and when I came back I changed the batteries in the keyfob, as I had been locking and unlocking the car using the key for the last year or so.

  hi i have a peugeot expert van 1.9 turbo diesel 98 S plate has done 165k. it actually goes well but i have a couple of questions that i need some mechanical advice on. first thing, when i start it for the first time of the day it doesnt seem to be firing on all cylinders, like its mis-timing, and wont usually start. then second time no problem starts a treat. the only trouble when it does start i get some blue smoke. ok thats the first problem, the second is i am getting black smoke when i am driving along. not all the time. i get it when i floor it in first and second, say pulling out of junctions but again not all the time. i also get black smoke when i go up steep hills. say im going up the hill in 3rd and the revs start to go down. so i change down to 2nd but its high revs so up to 3rd but its not enough power to pull. when its in 3rd it smokes but when its in 2nd and high revs, no smoke !!!!!!

  I've just done this, and as a novice, found it quite easy the engine is the same for all 90s Peugeots and Citroens inc. the 306, 405, Zantia and ZX. You will need - replacement starter motor - get it from a breaker for £20, and get free practice in removing it! 8mm Allen bit with a ratchet, assorted metric ring spanners and a flat head screwdriver.

  I own a Peugeot 309 in India. I wish to know the following: (a) Tyre pressures -Maker says 29 psi front and 33 psi rear, as written in the car manual. But car gets real jumpy at this air pressure. Also, the radials which are necessary to look a bit "flat", do not look so.
