  About to replace 4 tyres on our XC90. At tyreshopper there is the choice of two different premium brands at only £1 price difference. So which would be better.... Continental Cross Contact UHP (CT CR/Cont UHP) or Bridgestone BR D33's.

  Picked up my new XC90 this morning and have been behaving like a kid in toy shop all day. This car has exceeded all expectations. For the benefit of anyone put off by long waiting lists, the salesman reckons that Volvo are really starting to push these cars through to the UK in greater numbers.

  That leaves the XC90 and Discovery Sport  Within our budget there are 2018 and 2019 XC90s with roughly 110,000 miles on the clock or 2020 Discovery Sports with 60,000 miles on the clock. Both would be 2.0 Diesel and would be purchased through dealers with full service history and 1 year warranty's.

  I am about to purchase a Volvo XC90 (D5), but i dont want the earlier 163BHP engine as i am told it is a little too slow and has no pull. How do I know whether I have the newer, more powerful engine or not before I buy? having not driven them before, I have no idea what to compare against on the test drive.

  I have been living in Germany & shortly will return to UK, along with my lhd XC90 with the old (fixed) bi-xenons. I see from this site that the (new) directional bi-xenons are switcheable for lhd/rhd. But what about the old ones? I tried my Volvo garage but they were unhelpful.

  I have a Volvo XC90 D5 SE Geartronic which I bought new in June 2004 and which has covered 35,000 miles. I read the recent auction report on this site that stated that an XC90 price reflected the common problems and expense with injector failure.

  I am looking at replacing my 5 yr old Seat Alhambra with either new SUV (possibly the new Peugeot 4007 or Citroen C Crosser) or, alternatively getting a 2-3 yr old quality SUV such as the Tourag or XC90. I tow a caravan and need a fairly heavy tow car. If I went for the new Pug or Citroen I would need to get a loan of about £5k The Volvo/ VW at 2-3 yrs old would mean no loan and thats probably the route I will go and i will go for 2.5l diesel but of the 2 which is better?!!

  I have been reading previous reviews regarding the disintergrtion of cambelt tensioners on xc90 can anybody let me know what there outcome was?  My story briefly is: bought a 2003 xc90 with 64400 miles and was given a 28 day warrenty by the garage.  On day 30 returned the car due to a loud knocking noise, the garage told me to "take it home and bring it back tomorrow and the mechanic will have a look at it for you" - guess what never made it home!!

  Hello Folks, In the market for a XC90 with a budget of up to 20K. Went for a test drive today to a Volvo dealer to try a 14 plate 36000 on the clock vehicle. The car won't start so they had to jump start it (took a few attempts), the car was then left running for 10 minutes before I took it for a 15 minutes drive.

  Dear All  I am looking to sell my Ford Kuga Titanium and use some of the money to buy a 4x4, I cannot however decide between the following: Landrover Freelander 2 Landrover Discovery 3 Volvo XC90  VW Touareg I am looking to spend £7-8k,  My main fear is that the freelanders boot is too small, how does this compare to the Kuga? I do not believe the quoted 755l of space is correct?

  I've just bought an '03 Xc90, and the third row of seats' seat-belts are frayed at points - doubtless owing to a dog chewing at them at some point. I am confident the webbing is not so compromised as to prevent it from restraining folk in the event of a sudden stop or worse, but am mindful of the fact that their condition is not likely to pass unnoticed on an approaching MoT.
