  • mazda 6 Takuya - Car power loss, accelerating = stuttering. 7 Jun 2017 (Forum)
So I just bought a 2011 2nd hand mazda takuya (privatly bought). I was driving it back home and everything was going great, until I got about 60miles into the trip, then the car seemed to lose power. If I accelerated the reves would go up, so I dont think the engine is losing power, and the car would judder but not stall.

  • Why can’t the Japanese make a good diesel engine 19 Apr 2023 (Forum)
Take the Hilux that refused to die for Clarkson. Now we hear about Subaru s dissasterous  attempts , Mazda CX5 destroying themselves and even the Yaris diesel with DPF breaking the tradition of peerless reliability. But at least Toyota accepted the criticism and arranged a generous claim arrangement.
  • Nissan Almera - Deciding on a new car. Almera or Seat Leon 22 Feb 2019 (Forum)
I've narrowed it down to an early 2000s Almera 1.5 or a Seat Leon 1.6 of the same era. I considered the 2nd gen focus and Mazda 3 based on the same platform but after more research wasn't so sure anymore. I'll be 21 a month after the insurance expires so insurance will still be a fairly major factor as well.   Thanks
  • Honda Civic - Petrol v diesel hatch 26 Dec 2018 (Forum)
I am unsure if to look at a reputable diesel engine in the honda civic for example or look at small turbo petrol engines in the focus or golf for example.  The alternative would be the larger naturally aspirated engine of the mazda 3. I am concerned about the rising cost of diesel but don't travel into a city to worry about congestion charges
  • Workhorse saloon under 2.5k? 30 Jul 2017 (Forum)
My friend is looking to change his 2000 VW Passat, he's been really happy with the car but the car is reaching it's end of life and now would like to try some other model. He likes the shape of Audi A4, Mazda 3 and 6 but is not sure of how reliable or trustworthy would these make. He'll mainly use the car for work, needs it to be saloon style for the boot space, he's thinking diesel for fuel economy and idealy not less reliable or more expensive at maintaining/parts than his previous Passat What do you guys think?
  • Replacement for Qashqai 13 Jan 2015 (Forum)
Apart from a new model Qashqai, what are the alternatives and are they any better? I can think of the: -  Hyundai ix35 Kia Sportage Mazda CX-5 Mitsubishi ASX Peugeot 3008 I think that the Ford Kuga and Toyota Rav4 will be too big/expensive.  Anything else?
  • Used Car Warranty 2 Feb 2014 (Forum)
Hi, I will shortly be in the market for buying a two or three year old Mazda 2 for my daughter. Having checked out some of the local garages, including a couple of main dealers, they all seem to offer a 3 year RAC warranty with the car. This is all well and good. But should I also expect to get a more comprehensive 6 month or 1 year dealers warranty as well.

  • Peugeot 407 - Seat comfort in family car 14 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I cannot find a new car that combines reasonable rear legroom with comfortable enough seats for the adults in the front. The skoda superb and mazda 6 are too firm, the skoda has uncomfortable ridged edges on the front seats. Why is there a move to this kind of firm seating? I'm going to buy my 407 and wait to see if the new 508 has retained some French comfort!

  • Gap insurance 3 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Hi all Picked up my new Mazda 2 yesterday; a month late but very welcome. The dealer offered me a gap insurance policy, which i had never heard of before, and it was on a 'today and today only' basis. Now i am usually very cynical about these kind of deals; extended warranties etc. but this seemed a good deal; for a one off payment of £300 i got 3 years cover, so that in the event of theft or write off i would get the full purchase price of a new replacement.
