  hi changed my cam sensor and now the eml is on constant , disconected the battery for 40mins and still on so done paperclip test and im getting P0110 Intake Air Temperature Circuit Malfunction and P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction iv put original sensor back on and eml still on its had new plugs , leads , dis pack ,cleaned throttle body, new crankshaft sensor,cleaned iac, new colant temp sensor and also new maf some help would be good thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------

  I have been driving for 45 years - in that time I have only broken down and recovered 3 times, fixed at the side of the road 3 times. Major repairs - Gearbox 2 x both under warranty, Head gasket x 1, Clutch x 1, rear axle x1. Batteries x 2 ( 1 under warranty), electrical faults x 3/4........................really the rest is brakes, tyres, and servicing. Mileage would probably average 20-25,000 mls/year. Makes - mostly Ford, Vauxhall, some BL, odd MB, last 14 years Honda, Mazda, Nissan.

  A year ago I replaced the glow plugs so cant imagine they would need changing again. I tried 'double preheating' it, given the battery a jump start and a charge but it still wont start. It was fine on Saturday, didnt use it yesterday, cant use it today. Any ideas at all please?

  I have primed the fuel filter and the filter has definately got diesel in it. After attempting to start it by towing it as the battery is now flat, there is pressure in the system if I release one of the pipes off the filter. I have released the injectors and there is a small amount of diesel present, but when turning the engine over no fuel is squirting out of the injectors.

  Whether its in park or neutral i turn the key and nothing the car wont even try to turn over I just get dead silence. The battery is fine everything else is working perfectly radio etc but then after maybe 15-20 tries shifting between gears it will start randomly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  Does that mean she needs to have a code for the unit? The previous owner does not have the code. The car had the alternator changed recently so the battery was disconnected. What can she do? Visit Vauxhall and ask for the code? What is the procedure and how much are we looking at? Also do the basic corsa only have two speakers or four speakers?

  I have no one to ask either apart from you guys cos of course there is nothing open and I couldnt drive there anyway! Surely the battery wouldnt be flat?? I havent driven a lot lately just a 4 mile round trip to work daily for the last week. thanks in advance Paula

  hello new to forun and hope someone can help,wife drove her 306d on friday morn left lights on came back 8hrs later no power in battery at all have tried jump leads and have left connected for around 15 mins turn key no dash lights at all,fuel gauge moves and alarm light was flashing on friday but when turning key went to solid red today when i tried with the jump leads no light flashing or solid have tried bump starting but nothing it does not have key pad and you just put key in and turn to start normally.any ideas?

  A piece of good news for mondeo mk3 2.5l owners- I had an alternator on its way out, confirmed by Ford. The battery light was coming on and off. The Ford price was £370 approx, plus fitting say £450-£500. I didnt like that and was recommended to use an independent specialist. The fitted alternator was not the exact model as none could be found at short notice, but I was assured it would be compatible and capable .

  It has been running fine then all of the sudden this morning there is no life in it. It just clicking noise and the engine clearly isn't turning over. I have checked the battery which is reading 12.5v, the connections all look good and the connections to the starter motor look ok. The car has always started first time everytime before. My dad said the central locking was being silly before this happened so I wonder if it could be an imboliser problem or is this car not that clever?

  Have only owned it for a couple of months and having always been a DIY person (apart from having had a Co car for the last 20 yrs!!) would somebody plse confirm the following: 1 Where is the battery! (I feel a right twit for not being able to find it!!) 2. Have bought a new oil filter element and the correct oil - anything unusual to look out for when changing the oil and where is the oil filter??

  When trying to start it i got a warning on the dash :STOP Oil Pressure low or something along those lines,Anyone have any ideas ??? At first i thought it was possibly the battery but now i'm not to sure,thanks in advance

  Hi, I have the above car and have just changed the batteries in the fob and now it will only UNLOCK the doors and will NOT LOCK them. When I press the LOCK button, the doors will not lock and there is faint PEEPING noise from the alarm(not full sound from alarm) for about 30 seconds and then stops.

  Did a service on the vehicle and also renewed the oil filter cap which was broken, cleaned all the hoses to the air filter etc. Checked the alternator and battery which all working fine, had to change the fan belt. The car starts first time in the morning and runs well for a 13 year old motor with 73,000 miles on the clock, but got this intermittent fault not sure what?

  Hello My Suzuki Swift cranks very slowly first thing in the morning in the recent cold weather - not helped by a diet of short trips morning and evening with lights, blower etc always on meaning the battery rarely rarely gets a good charge. Although the manual recommends 5w-30 oil, I know the dealer who services it uses 10w-40 (no idea why, he's also a Ford dealer so you'd think he'd have supplies of the thinner oil!).

  Now I feel paranoid that they left the 10W/40 oil in the engine and this is what is causing the starting trouble. The battery is about 3 years old and is a heavy duty one. Do you think the car is just suffering from normal winter starting trouble or do you think it is to do with the oil.
• Legacy Electrics Susceptible to Interference 1 Dec 2008 (Forum)
  Had the RAC out and using a hand held device of some sort he found something was interfering with the signal from the fob. We rolled the car about 1o metres away and it started fine. I replaced the battery and still the same problem. I've been parking there for over a year now with no problem. Any ideas on a solution? The car park is under a block of flats where everyone has a designated space so switching with someone else could be a real pain.

  hi i have a citreon berlingo van which wont start every so often normally about once a week,every other day starts perfect, just had new plugs which i thought was the prob,it runs great all the time,battery seems ok,it seems to be the longer i leave in between using it is when it happens but is only ever 24 hours maximum,when it wont start the relay man has used quick start type stuff and is the fine again starting after any ideas?

  Once started car is fine unless left for some hours then same problem. I've replaced the glow plugs and battery, had the fuel filter seal checked out - was ok. Replaced air flow meter and waste gate due to other problem. Was told could be relay to glow plugs?

  can anyone help please. range rover won't start. fires when turning the key for a few seconds then starter just turns but no firing anymore. fuel pump ok plenty of pressure. good spark at plugs. distributor cap and rotor arm clean. plugs in good condition. tried easy start but fires intermittently for a few seconds and thats it. battery good. a friend suggested a noid light to test injectors .is this a good idea and where do i get one from .the e bay stuff all seeems to be for fords etc. any help greatly appreciated Nick
