any - First car for daughter, what to buy? 22 Oct 2014 (Forum)
Thought about the Grande Punto (1.2) , lot of car for the money, decent engine, looks nice, good safety rating but it's a Fiat?? Similarly Renault Clio (1.2) (2006 on) quite a grown up wee car, good safety, pain in the backside to change a lightbulb and it's a Renault......(maybe a Twingo?) Corsa (2006 on) 1.2.....they can't be that bad can they?? -
Estate help 14 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Hello everyone, I'm a complete newbie here and hope my query is appropriate. I'm looking to change my old Renault Clio for a bigger car. I've got up to £9,500 tops to play with and want something diesel and an estate. Diesel for the obvious consumption concerns and estate because I have a dog, could be getting another in the not too distant future. -
Car rental - the GOOD side 26 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Our Italian is strictly what's in the phrase book, his English is non existent. We try to communicate. The front of his Renault is badly damaged, headlights smashed etc. Back of our car (Renault Modus, fantastic little thing) has a small hole in the rear bumper and bumper has slipped down a half inch if you look carefully, that's all. -

Car Sharks, and the plain daft 5 Dec 2002 (Forum)
The cars I looked at were offered to be by people who really thought I had come down in the last shower or by those who genuinely had no idea that they were parting with a death trap. Exhibits include:- Renault 5 Mk1 GTL 3 door, where the passenger door pillar had actually com away from the floorpan, making it possible to push the door open by half an inch without actually opening it! Scary or what. Fortunately it could not be driven as the cylinder head was in the boot! -
Roadtest : Avantime 20 Jul 2002 (Forum)
s time I could pick one up for a fraction of the cost of an autobahn cruiser, and that's probably Renault's biggest problem. Lee *Nielsen is an expert in Usability : http://www.useit.com/ -

Has anyone had any experience with rejecting a new vehicle from a dealer? I\'d like to know how you got on I\'m having terrible trouble with a Renault dealer, dealers name deleted 4 Weeks ago, on 17th May I took delivery of a new Renault Clio 1.2 16V 5 door Expression with Air Conditioning (total paid £8200) On collection I immediately noticed it had the incorrect colour trim strip on the dash (silver when the rest of the interior is blue!) -

All - Used Car Warranty - 'the autogroup' 14 Oct 2018 (Forum)
My question is are the warranties worth it and does anybody have experience of 'the autogroup'. My reason for querying is two used cars I brought (Renault from main dealer and Vauxhall from Vauxhall independent) were nothing but trouble and their warranties as useless as chocolate fireguards. Two other cars from 'all make' independents came with warranties but were utterly reliable so Im never had to use the warranties. -
Grand scenic 1.9 DCI 2004 - Clutch issues 27 Oct 2017 (Forum)
So while taking a drive today the clutch pedal went to the floor and didn't return. After calling the AA he said its most likely the clutch has gone. Renault have quoted us £900 all in. Now after being recovered to the garage the recovery driver noticed a huge puddle of fluid on the bed of the truck. Turns out to be brake clutch fluid. I got in to release the handbrake and it came up with a brake fault. -
Which cars have 'quickclear' windscreens? 6 Mar 2017 (Forum)
(The s/hand cars I'm considering are the aforementioned Superb, Hondas Accord and Legend, Lexus LS400, Toyotas Avensis and Camry, Mitsubishis Galant and newish Colt diesel auto, Nissan QX, Renault Vel Satis and an M-B W124 or the later W210 E220 CDI. Not exactly a shortlist . . . yet.) Thank you. AF. -
new reliability survey; time to change opinions? 25 May 2016 (Forum)
In view of a recently published survey from a well known vehicle warranty company maybe it is time to change opinions regarding certain makes or models. Surprising to learn that Renault and Peugeot do quite well. Ford and Vauxhall have a decent showing. Mazda do very well. However, on the forum the current thinking is; don't touch French cars (dodgy electrics), Vauxhall (only average) and Mazda(diesels are rubbish). -
Any - Family car for under £6k challenge 17 May 2012 (Forum)
Hit me up with your suggestions. The only car that fits most of those criteria at the moment is a Renault Megane Estate 1.5 DCI, or a Peugeot 307 SW 1.6 HDI, but I'm rather scared of those with reliability side of things (and with the pug the DPF). I can't seem to find anything else. Help! -
ford focus estate - need bigger car with good mpg under £4000 8 Apr 2012 (Forum)
And that handles nicely (i owned an alfa 156 before the ford, so was spoilt in terms of handling). Any suggestions, i dont want ford again. No renaults as they leak like sieves, known from personal experience. Other makes i dont like, peaugeot, rover, kia, hyundai, skoda (it is still a skoda no matter how pretty they make it look), i think that might be it.
