  • Cit ZX water loss 8 Feb 2005 (Forum)
My son's Citroen ZX turbo diesel appears to be losing water although no puddles or tell tale "water marks" seem to be present, except a bit round the rad cap. The water is not at all foamy and does not smell of combustion. It does not overheat either and runs at a constant 85 to 90c. Would a new rad cap fix it?
  • Mondo Accelerator Pedal 8 Feb 2005 (Forum)

  • citroen xantia brakes 12 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Trying to fit new rear pads to P reg xantia 1.8 estate. The disk runs much closer to the inside edge of the caliper, almost touching it, while there is a decent gap on the outside. Caliper piston is fully retracted but there is not enough space to fit new inboard pad.
  • land rover overdrive 30 Jun 2004 (Forum)
My Land Rover Defender 90 Td5 has plenty of power through the gears but seems to run out of gears. Did Land Rover make two types of gear box with different ratios or would an overdrive be the solution? If so do you have any experience of types to consider or avoid? (PS I am in high ratio)

  • Windscreen coating 19 May 2003 (Forum)
Recently went on a trip to the motorshow in a mates Impreza WRX on a rainy day. He had coated his 'screen with something that enabled the water to almost run off without needing to wipe the 'screen. Great invention but does anyone know more about it - how long it lasts, how much it costs etc and where I can buy it from? Cheers!
  • 2001 Fiesta 1.25 belt (alternator) 12 May 2003 (Forum)
The rubber belt which runs on the drivers side (exterior) of the engine block causes engine vibration, especially at idle and high speed, as it turns since there is a wobble on the roller/pulley at the top of the engine. Any ideas from the forum as to the cause or possible remedy?

  • How long have we got? (oil) 31 Dec 2002 (Forum)
I seem to remember a few years ago it was popular for various doom and gloom merchants to predict that oil would run out in 20, 30, 40 years or so. What's the current estimate? I heard one chap on the radio the other day saying that there was 'plenty of oil around'. Is there?
