  • C4, 208, Clio, Octavia diesels euro 6 auto - Ultimate MPG for used diesel euro 6 automatic 5 Jun 2024 (Forum)
I cover around 15, 000 miles annually avaraging 60 - 70 mph with a little in towns. I've read quite a lot online about PSA's bluehdi diesels, I see the Citroen C4 bluehdi returns great mpg, likewise the Peugeot 208 1.6 bluehdi. Also I've heard the Skoda Octavia and Renault Clio 1.5 return great mpg  What's the ultimate when it comes to MPG?  Any advice would be much appreciated.
  • Berlingo 2017 1.6 Hdi 75hp - Antifreeze 14 Aug 2023 (Forum)
I'm trying to make life easy for myself and just put back in the same as original.  It seems slightly older citroens used G12 (which is a VW spec) and this is available in various colours, including yellow, but only from Valeo. As lots of the stuff on the car is made by Valeo, it seems likely they used this from the factory.
  • Replacement car 18 Apr 2022 (Forum)
I have been looking at another Ford Focus from the year 2015 but the Eco boost engines have had such a bed press and so has the powershift (I would prefer an auto over a manual). Vauxhall Astra seem to rate so badly in reviews. How about a Citroen C4, I believe they are 3 cylinders, any good? Any suggestions would be appreciated so that I can search for prices and reviews.
  • What is the most badge-engineered car ever? 21 Mar 2021 (Forum)
I guess that the most badge-engineered current production car is the Toyota Aygo / Peugeot 107 / Citroen C1. Platform sharing seems to be more the fashion these days, as with VW / Seat / Skoda.
  • Full car service now fault 3 Mar 2017 (Forum)
Hello,   Not sure if this is something anyone can advise on?   My Citroen c3 went for a full service at a local garage on 31/01/2017 – they did repairs which was all fine. I then drove my car from Birmingham to Cornwall and as soon as I got there, the power steering stopped working – steering was almost impossible but then came back and went again.
  • Low large boot used car/van ? 16 Nov 2015 (Forum)
I would prefer a 4x4 as a car or a small van   Having looked at lots of options and comments ( landrover, subaru, rav4, vitara etc)  it seems for my purposes I have a choice between :- -- Diesel X-Trail - from what  understand reliable, good on the road and off-road. -- Renault Kangoo, Citroen Belingo or similar - functional and fine in the winter with winter tyres and for me insurance/tax cheaper. I know they seem and odd pair but both will serve the dogs on terms of boot and both type have a low boot.
  • How's the motor trade now? 7 Aug 2013 (Forum)
I've heard that basic wages have improved but how is it these days trying to make a living selling cars? I was thinking of a Citroen dealership as they do seem to be on the up,do some very economical/low CO2 cars and advertise well. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks Isisalar
  • Hyundai Santa Fe - Replacement estate car with space for 2 greyhounds 1 Oct 2012 (Forum)
It has been suggested that a VW Passat would be worth considering and I like the idea of a Citroen C5 as you can lower the suspension to make access easier for the dogs! Any relevant suggestions welcome.
  • Mercedes,Volvo, Saab, Alfa, Trooper,Zafira, C5 - Older Estate/4x4/MPV 10 Apr 2012 (Forum)
I am slowly narrowing down my choices for a good sized Estate/4x4/MPV under £2000 The choiceis twofold - reliability, mpg ( thats the head talking ) and style ( heart talking ) I have  selected the following :- Mercedes C180/E320 Diesel Estates Volvo V70Petrol or Diesel Estate Saab 9-5 Petrol Estate Alfa 156 Sportswagen Diesel Estate  Citroen C5 Diesel Estate Ford Mondeo Diesel Estate Vauxahall Zafira Petrol VW Sharan / Seat Alhambra diesel MPV ..finally Suzuki Xl-7 Grand Vitara    I will be doing around 5-8k miles a year and 'may' sometimes take 6 people ( hence the reason for the 7 seaters )..

  • Jane Indy Plus Team Isofix Group 3 Car Seat 11 Feb 2010 (Forum)
I've seen several glowing reviews for this model, but wanted some advice. Their website lists some Citroen models, but Not the C8, although it does have Isofix on some of the seats. Also for my Touran, which also has Isofix mounting points. Anyone have any experience of these car-seats? Thanks in advance.
  • Skoda Superb (2008 - ) - VW TDI PD 105 1.9 Engine ~ Good or Bad? 11 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I currently have a Citroen C5 HDI 2.0 8v 2003 model. Im thinking of replacing it at some point with a new Skoda Superb. Im particularly attracted to the 1.9 PD Diesel engine but its a bit of an unknown for me. Im sure there are plenty around and would welcome some advice as I intend to keep it a long time (possbly 10 years)........
  • Looking for advice on a MPV purchase? 3 Jan 2009 (Forum)
My wife is a wheelchair user but prefers to transfer into a passanger front seat, this is mainly due to our rural location and the fact we have a Citroen Dispatch WAV which is basically a commercail vehicle with a lowered floor conversion, extremely uncomfortable. The problems arise due to the fact that we are expecting our 4th child in July (leaving us with the need for room for a folded wheelchair and a pram as we'll have two kids under 2 yrs old) we will be using 6 seats on a regular basis when all children are in the car and need a large boot for wheelchair and pram, not to mention the room needed for luggage, shopping etc.
  • Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - Problem with new 2.2 tdci S-Max 2 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I've had my 2.2tdci S-Max for a week or so now. The engine is basically the same as in recent Peugeots and Citroens, but as far as I can tell from official Ford press releases and also from peering into the engine compartment, it uses a single turbo rather than the twin sequential turbos, though it still hits 175bhp max.
  • Scrapping at home - outlawed? 14 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Having dismantled a number of vehicles at home over the years to keep others going, it now appears that this may not be permissible under new laws unless I keep the dismantled and effectively non-existent vehicle on a permanent SORN since only licensed scrapyards appear to be able to officially scrap a vehicle. To take an example, I dismantled a Citroen two years ago, sold the bits I didn't need and cut the bodyshell into parts that went to the scrap metal skip in the local council tip. Oils went there for disposal too and the petrol drained from the system into a very old fuel heater.
