Golf Mk5 Build Quality 20 Nov 2005 (Forum)
The whole trim shakes over rough roads - maybe I got one that was left on the line when they went on strike. Its now developed a tinny rattle under the passenger seat as well. Really does spoil driving it cos its actually a great car to drive. The drivers window has a mind of its own as well - press up and half the time it goes right down. -
Renault Scenic Trip Computer Question. 21 Oct 2005 (Forum)
I thought I would ask on the forum before I attempt to ask the garage in my ?school boy? French. I live in France so hence the left-hand drive requirement. Many thanks, Will. -

'Horse Hair' from exhaust - 98 Fiesta 16 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Although I don't drive it too often, there is currently no noticeable effect to the performance of the car. Any help appreciated. Cheers. Ian. -- Top Turkey - the fastest hands in Brum -
The Top Gear Thread - Vol 17 29 Aug 2005 (Forum)
t=36318 The other one was on 84 posts so it's probably best starting a new one. Shows how they're trying to show a more "ordinary" side driving other people's cars. Can anyone tell me why the new A class' fog lights kept alterating when May was driving it? (The "Star" in a Reasonably Priced Car has become incredibly boring - hence this post, and my imminent trip to the fridge for food) -- Adam -
another Citroen ZX problem 9 May 2005 (Forum)
hi, can anyone suggest a possible reason for the following problem with a 1.9 Diesel ZX..... Car runs OK at town driving speeds. Put it on a motorway and sometimes after a while it starts blowing out clouds of white smoke and continues to accelerate. Pull over and leave it for a few minutes and it drives normally again for a while. -
Why did you chose your pseudonym? 3 May 2005 (Forum)
Mine's a bit obvious really, I find the idea of an Italian supercar which can seat four people in comfort, something of interest and I want one. What's the reason for your BR name. Can make some guesses: - Pugugly - you are or use used to drive one; perleman - presumably a big nosed humourist with initials S J? Anyone care to spill the beans or have a guess? E3 -- Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive? -
Renault Espace starter motor 24 Feb 2005 (Forum)
I live in Italy and drive a 1993 Espace. In the last five years I have had to change the starter motor every year. Each time the specialist auto-electrics garage I go to shows me the motor he has just removed has seized up with rust. -
MPs and their motoring habits 8 Feb 2005 (Forum)
That might at least start to distinguish sheep from goats on motoring issues. Mr Brown doesn't drive, does he? Interesting, that. -
SEAT Leon - Buy now or not ? 23 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Looking to replace SWMBO's car so took a test drive in a 6 month old SEAT Leon SE 130 TDi. Did drive very well, powerful engine, enough space etc. Price however was £13,600 from main dealer, which seems high given a new model is out early in the new year. -

306 Noise over 3500 revs - Pug 306 10 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Hi, I have a 2000 306 LXD. Recently when driving and going over the 3500 revs mark the car starts emmiting a noise from what sounds like the passenger side of the engine. It is like a vibration noise of some sort. The only clue I have is that it only happens when the car in in gear an driving and not when I rev it to 4000 + in neutral. -
Astra 1.7TD - Faulty Fuel Pump? 9 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I think it may be the fuel pump as my MPG is also getting worse. Usually a tank will do 530 but struggled to get 510 miles out of it this time with same driving conditions. Car had done 73,000 miles. Anyone else had this problem? -
Citroen Xsara Diesel Revs 28 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I have a S-reg Xsara and the red section on the rev counter starts at 4,750rpm. It's not often I get above 3,000rpm in normal driving. The car runs great but fails its emissions bit of the MoT every year - is this coz of how I drive? Should I be taking the revs up to the top of the "safe" section regularly? Sorry to sound thick but I never had a diesel before and I want to look after this car! -
Peugeot 206 1.4 18 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Driving home to London from Manchester yesterday heard what I thought was road noise. Switched off radio to hear low pitched noise similar to child trying to play first notes on a recorder or a bit like wind coming under the bonnet! -
Only fools and horses 2 Feb 2004 (Forum)
... daft thing but here goes anyway ... If you ask anyone "what does Delboy drive?", many (maybe most) will tell you it's a Robin Reliant. Why is it that way round? People don't say they drive a Mondeo Ford or a Vectra Vauxhall, so why do they say it model first then manufacturer second when it's a Robin made by Reliant? -
02 Vectra Crank Sensor! 12 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Hello fellow users! I have put a deposit on a Jan 2002 1.8 Vectra, 36K on the clock (subject to a test drive first) and before I can test drive it the place I'm getting it from said that they need to replace the crank sensor and then reset the Engine Management System (apparently only a Vauxhall Dearlership can do this) Is this something I should be worrying about or not? -
Long journey preparation tips 20 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I'm driving up to Manchester tomorrow from Devon - weather's rumoured to be nasty but no idea what the traffic might be like! I've done the trip a few times before but first time in the Xsara diesel. Any tips for long motorway driving? -
Is 8 Years Enough? 20 Dec 2003 (Forum)
James Hill was jailed for 8 years today for killing 2 young girls when he lost control of his car during a road race on a the A46 near Grimsby. Apparently he had been banned from driving 5 times before, has previously been jailed, twice, for driving offences and was 3 times over the limit. I can't imagine what the parents of the girls must be going through. Was 8 years enough for this man? -
Peugeot 306 - Lights on Warning 22 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Checking the car found warning sounds when using passenger door but not drivers door. Should it work on both doors or is this something Peugeot have missed on right-hand drive? Its a 1998 R-reg Diesel Turbo. I would like to be sure before trying to find the fault - Remember all those DAF(T) trucks in the 80s whose cab lay to n/s because the factory put the extra leaf in the o/s spring for left-drive.
