Renault Scenic Trip Computer Question. - Will_375
I have recently bought a new Renault Scenic Expression 1.9DCi.

The car is a Left-Hand drive for the French market.
My question is as about the trip computer language. Does anybody know if it is possible to change it from French to English? Although my French has improved since having the car, I would prefer the messages in English. I thought I would ask on the forum before I attempt to ask the garage in my ?school boy? French.

I live in France so hence the left-hand drive requirement.

Many thanks,
Will.

You are right the hand book does say you can select either, but I have tried and tried and cannot get that function to work. The renault garage do not seem to know how to do it either.

Thanks rustbucket.

The only problem is my hand-book is also in french!

If you could give me a brief translation as to how it is described in your book I would be very happy.

I can now confirm after speaking to a garage that the language can be set (along with other functions like MPH/KPH) ? and this has to be done by a Renault garage using the ?Wizz-bang ? Buck Rodgers? computer plugged in to the cars diagnostics port located under a floor panel in the centre of the car.

I will be very nice to the garage and see if they might do it for free as the car is only four months old ? to be honest I never thought of this when I ordered the car. Lesson learned when buying abroad!

A great car other wise!

The wizz bang is called a "clip" in Renault speak. Plugs into the ODB port.
