306 Noise over 3500 revs - Pug 306 - RonnieC76
Hi,

I have a 2000 306 LXD. Recently when driving and going over the 3500 revs mark the car starts emmiting a noise from what sounds like the passenger side of the engine. It is like a vibration noise of some sort. The only clue I have is that it only happens when the car in in gear an driving and not when I rev it to 4000 + in neutral. Could this be gearbox or I'm (wishfully) thinking that it may be a loose mount of some sort. Any clues would be appreciated.

It could be the gearbox mount or the rear engine mount.

Open the bonnet & have an assitant let the clutch up slowly with the car in 1st gear, Also try in reverse gear, Handbrake & footbrake on while you do this & see if any of the engine mounts have too much play in them.
