  A third car, the Austin Healey that Philip drove in the Himalayan Rally remains on show in the museum itself. Jane Strange from the ERA said, ‘It was a great day and the ERA would like to thank all those who kindly displayed their cars and joined us for the event as well as the many personalities who attended including Rosemary Smith and ERA vice-president Willy Cave.’

  Video: Police pursue stolen Morris Minor 13 Nov 2018 (News)
  This is the moment a stolen Morris Minor nearly crashed at a junction while being pursued by police. The incident happened in the Fagley area of Bradford on Saturday. The car was reported as stolen at 7.30am and was spotted by West Yorkshire Police just after 8am. Offers from the Road Policing Unit tweeted, ‘It’s not every day you have a pursuit with a 51-year-old Morris Minor. They added, ‘Can anyone explain how it didn’t crash at this junction?

  New Kia Shuma: More Power for Same Money 30 Jan 2001 (News)
  Kia has replaced its 87bhp 1.5 litre and 108bhp 1.8 litre Shuma engines with a new 1.6 developing 100bhp. The new car lists at a starting price of £8,495 including Kias three year / 60,000 mile warranty and is 17% more fuel efficent than the old 1.8.   SEAT puts disabled youngsters in the driving seat 21 Oct 2011 (News)
  The lessons mean that wheelchair users can get behind the wheel of a SEAT Ibiza fitted with DSG gearbox and hand controls, as well as dual controls for the driving instructor. The lessons, which launch at the end of October 2011, are backed by 26-year-old TV presenter Sophie Morgan, who was paralysed in a car accident at the age of 18. She said: “Having had a road accident shortly after passing my driving test, which left me paralysed for life, I wholeheartedly encourage any initiative aiming to help young drivers be better prepared for the road and, accordingly, lower the chance of accidents.”

  Hundreds of classic diesels could be crushed if new scrappage scheme goes ahead 23 Dec 2014 (News)
  Mayor of London Boris Johnson is calling on the Government to launch a new scrappage scheme initiative aimed at  getting rid of polluting old diesel cars – putting ‘youngtimers’ such as the Mercedes-Benz 300D (W124) at risk. The call is backed by the the Environmental Audit Committee, which is recommending a diesel scrappage scheme to help tackle a ‘public health crisis’ in air pollution.

  SEAT is highlighting not just the cash benefits but also the environmental benefits that spring from the much-anticipated scrappage scheme, announced in last month’s Budget by Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling and coming into force today. The scheme, which sees some car buyers qualify for a £2,000 contribution towards a new SEAT in exchange for a commitment to scrap their old vehicle, should mean the removal of thousands of relatively heavily polluting aged motors from the UK’s roads.

  With PCP deals accounting for the vast majority of private sales - around 60 per cent - an ever increasing number of cars are coming onto the used market at three-years-old, meaning there's more choice for second-hand buyers. Next, there was a zero, or more recently two zeros, followed by the car’s ‘generation’ – so the 307 was replaced by the 308.

  Now we’re just days away from 53 reg, which is bound to bring a flood of fresh stock onto the auction scene. But from some of the prices achieved today you wouldn’t have believed it. The old shape 31k mile 2000W Clio 172 in the photo started sensibly enough at £7,000, but then went on to sell for £8,050. And for a lot of other cars it was much the same story. A 100k mile 2001X new shape W203 Mercedes C220CSD Classic manual kicked off at £9,000, but then you couldn’t see the auctioneer for hands as it rocketed away to sell for £13,650.

All steel full fendered '32 Ford 5 window coupes like this sell for upwards of $40,000 in the States so it was good to see this one, slammed at the front and mildly hot rodded with Edelbrock heads and a twin carb manifold.
