The AA said that the Engine Management Unit needs repair or replacing. My Peugeot dealer has quoted me £886 to replace the EMU - Please confirm if this seems about OK or are the boys in blue boiler suits taking financial advantage ?
  • Peugeot 406 ABS ECU 7 May 2003 (Forum)
Over the weekend the ABS dashboard light on our 1998 406 2.1TD GLX Estate came on and refused to go out. I booked the car into our local Peugeot dealer who have just called me to advise that the car needs a new ABS ECU at a cost of £ 490.- plus labour and VAT. It's going to cost the best part of £ 700.-. I'm stunned. Do I have an option on this or have Peugeot got me "over a barrel".
  • New Peugeot 206 van - good choice? 22 Jan 2003 (Forum)
A colleague is thinking of buying a new 206 diesel van with either the 1.9D or 1.4HDI engine. He likes Peugeots, having had good experiences with a 205 van, but is on a VW Caddy at the moment and fancies a change. Have the Peugeots become cheap and nasty now? Have their engine problems been sorted out? Are the dealers any good?

The motor on my elctric window works fine but the glass has become detatched from its mount. I asked in a Peugeot garage and was told that the regulator would need to be replaced along with the motor as they are attached. Is there an easier cheaper way of makeing repairs.
