Closed Auctions 18 Oct 2002 (Forum)
When BCA run a closed auction, I know that it is closed to retailers of that brand and selected dealers. What I can't get is how the seller gains from doing this, as they must be restricting the number of potential buyers and hence restricting the prices they receive. -
Cat Bypass on LPG 23 Sep 2002 (Forum)
I have a Peugeot 406 with a knackered cat and I have been thinking about puting a cat bypass instead of replacing the cat. The car runs on LPG so has lower emmissions. Would it still pass it's MOT without the cat because of the LPG? Any advice gratefully received! -
Engine knock! Rover 25 Impression 14 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Dear John, I have recently purchased a new Rover 25 Impression 1.4. As I normally run with the blower on, it was not until I turned it off that I heard a slight knocking coming from the engine. Is this usual for the K Series engine? Regards, Roger Beveridge. -

Peugeot 3008 eHdi semi auto - Subject real mpg 4 Oct 2016 (Forum)
Three year ago I was convinced by everyone to change my 2.0 ltr auto diesel to a new economical 1.6 auto diesel I still need space so peugeot eHdi came up as a car goes it's ok the gearbox is a total disaster area the egc automated manual is crap! Never again. But the worst thing about it my Skoda superb always retuned 45 mpg running around town and some motorway and 62 on a run of200 motorway miles. The pug best mpg to date is 40.2 mpg.mostly it's around 35 mpg I got more from a petrol 2.2 2002 Vauxhall omega auto. This car has been a total disaster when it come to economy.if you do any sort of motorway travel you can for get economy the engine is under powered and the car to heavy put 4 people and luggage in her and it drinks diesel like a Scot drinks free whisky quickly and lots of it! -
Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDi 2004 - Engine squeal noise at steering full lock / aircon 2 Jan 2015 (Forum)
Misdiagnoses have included replacement of the belt tensioner (twice) which brings some temporary relief from the noise, allowing the garage to claim they have "fixed it", but only because the spring is nice and new, and it soon gets worn out by the bouncy cable running. Also numerous checks of the power steering pump and aircon system, with various flushing, topping up, cleaning etc. One garage even started to look at the wiring loom that runs the injectors, claiming that it was common for this to perish and then the engine will run badly at low revs. -
Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - 07 2.0 Loss of power, DPF flashes,TCS on, MAF sens 17 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Back to garage and they clean and 'recharge' the DPF. 5 days later, on a dual-carriageway doing 70mph and car suddenly starts to slow on long hill - speed drops to 40 in 4th - really hairy with traffic running up your tail! DPF starts to flash again. Stopped and switched off for 10mins. Restarted and DPF continues to flash - pull away and car runs fine. DPF then stops flashing and goes solid. Then just before destination it goes out completely.
