advice on 4x4 12 Jun 2008 (Forum)
The car that I would really like, although again not the best off road but probably acceptably so, is the Audi Allroad 3.0d but they are very expensive. Any cars that I should think about? (I think that the Nissan X Trail is going to be too small). -
£326 for replacement car keys !!! £98M total 8 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Advanced alarm and immobiliser systems mean Ford Focus owners face paying up to £266 for replacement keys, while Nissan Micra owners would have to spend as much as £326 to get back behind the wheel. Martin Milliner, of Britannia Rescue, said: "Accessing vehicles built since 1998 is generally more time-consuming and expensive for drivers due to the introduction of increasingly sophisticated alarms, immobilisers, and shielded locks. -
PT Cruise replacement 22 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Ford C-Max, possibly S-Max ? Maybe, a SEAT Altea (XL) not sure if it is raised enough. ? VW Touran ? Nissan Cashcow ? At a push a Renault Scenic or Vauxhall Zafira though, he may not remain a friend if I recommend either of these. Possibly even a FIAT Multipla ? These are not the type of cars I would normally look for myself, my question; is there anything I've overlooked? -
Young lad speeding in fast car 27 Mar 2007 (Forum)
So I crossed over the road, and had a work with the driver. He was a young lad, about 20-ish, in a new looking Nissan 350Z. Nice car! I told him that I thought his driving was dangerous. He said his foot slipped. I told him that if he couldn't control the car he shouldn't be in it. I told him it was a public road, and that racing should be on a race track. -

The Hyundai Sants Fe is the best looking 4X4 by far. 5. Daihatsu make cars for midgets. 4. The Nissan 350Z is the best looking non exotica car, full stop. 5. The Honda Civic is a corporate catastrophe. 6. The new Citroen Executive barge is hideous, beautiful and utter madness all rolled into one. "£37,000 OTR. -
Have I missed Anything? 15 Apr 2006 (Forum)
I am also 6 foot 3 so should be able to sit comfortably for long journeys. We have looked at the following Nissan Note 1.5 Diesel New. My friend works for them so I get a very nice discount. Wife things its pig ugly, but inside it ticks every box. Maybe, but I am worried about Renaults faults? Ford Cmax 1.6 Petrol LX New. -
Almera 1.8 Auto 9 Mar 2006 (Forum)
The bodywork was unmarked and a nice of green, but what I wasn't impressed with was the fact that part of the seat trim had come away from the front of the front passenger seat, exposing a sharp edge, and both of the door trim fixings were adrift on the trailing edge of both doors. What's that about Nissan build quality being impeccable? I have also located a 5 door SE in Leicester, for which they are asking £7495. Is this a reasonable price from a franchised dealer? -
Insurance rockets after company car bash 13 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Due to a change of job role, I loose my company car in early March having had one for 25 years with the same employer. I am privately purchasing a new NIssan Primera Flare 1.8 hatchback arriving early March. Obviously I'll need to insure it. My wife has 8 years NCD (currently with Esure) on a fully comprehensive policy for our privately owned 1995 Ford Fiesta ; this also has our 22 year old daughter (+ myself) as named drivers . -
Toyota Hi-Lux, anyone? 3 Nov 2005 (Forum)
I had one of the box shaped ones and reckoned it was the best 4WD I've ever driven (we do a good bit of volcano and jungle-bashing over here). Nissan Frontier - ditto re looks. Isuzu - terrible rattly engine but very gutsy. Horrible color schemes. Er...puke yellow anyone? Ford Trekker - very ordinary basic workhorse, much cheaper but well, ordinary. -
Help! Honda Brake Caliper 10 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I may have got this wrong as I didn't keep the installation leaflet. The brakes are made by Nissin not NISSAN. If anyone has any info on this type of caliper or could give me some idea of why I have lost adjustment on the n/side caliper I would be grateful. I have adusted the other side ok. This is done by jacking up both rear wheels and setting H/brake to first notch and tightening h'brake cable till disc just starts to bind. -
Time of life? 5 Feb 2005 (Forum)
In the next 2-3 months I need to make a decision on my immediate motoring future. In a nutshell it boils down to this: Should I a) Sell the Alfa and buy a new Nissan X-trail SVE DCi as my main personal transport, running up 25,000-30,000 miles per year or b) Keep the Alfa until the wheels fall off, using it as my main car, and spend a not dissimilar amount to the purchase price of a new X-trail on the purchase of a secondhand Maserati 3200GT (likely to be a 1999 or 2000 model, with perhaps 30,000-40,000 miles on it), using it for no more than 5,000-8,000 miles per annum. -
Nisssan Micra (K10) carburettor problems 27 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Hi All, I have a J reg Nissan Micra LS 1.0l and until recently has been a wonderfully reliable and economic car. It has been suffering from problems similar to those reported by drivers of the later micras (fuel injection - air mass meter calibration errors) but of course this isnt fuel injected. -
Galaxy price and alternative 25 Jun 2004 (Forum)
He doesnt want a citreon picasso or any saloon or estate car. What takes his interest is the hyundai matrix, mitsubish space star, ford focus, nissan primera and any thing else which represents value for money and durability. What do you reccomend he gets? Also should the auctions be a serious consideration particulary the mobility and ex-leasing sales? -
Time to treat myself 2 Feb 2003 (Forum)
We're looking at R,S and T reg cars at places like the GTC or similar, up to about £4k (will be on finance). Likely candidates include Honda Accord, Toyota Avensis, Nissan Primera, Ford Mondeo. SWMBO fell in love with an 85k mile 98S Mondeo Ghia X 2.0 16v manual with leather, air and cruise for £3899 screen price last weekend, but now it's been sold. Should we look for another Ghia or Ghia X? -
Lagos ... Motoring hell! 20 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Also poholed and ditched... even more fun at 80km/h VEHICLES: Minibus taxis abound, plus ,millions of mopeds, normally with three occupants. Skoda, VW, Merc, Renault all well represented, as are Toyota, Nissan and Peugeot. Most vehicles seem to be Pug 504's (the circa 75 one!), favoured by govt departments, it wopuld appear. about 10% of all vehicles DON'T have some form of accident damage! Despite the poor state of the roads, there are still a fair few Flash motors - I saw more Jag XK8's than I have ij Cape Town! -

XBUS light electric modular utility vehicle 21 Nov 2021 (Forum)
, for the basic chassis plus van ('universal') module, the price is just over 20k Euros, the two extra battery packs would be another 1500 Euros each, and those prices include VAT. For comparison, prices for a Nissan E-NV200 van starts at about £28k (inc VAT). I do realise I may be in a minority liking this, but I think it looks great!, like a Tonka toy made real, especially the 'off road' version (an extra 2000 Euros).
