  • Dealer sinks to new low 27 May 2009 (Forum)
I was at a local independent service/repair/MOt garage this week getting my son's car MOT'd when a young woman came in to pick her Citroen C2. I got chatting to the guy who runs the garage and he told me the lady had taken the C2 (57 plate 10,000 mileage) into the main dealer for a service. The dealer had rang her at home to say the front pads were "80% worn" and needed changing urgently.

  • Alas, the Looking Glass 20 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Once I had secured the part from the local dealer, worth a small post in itself, I was delighted to find that snapping the glass in place took seconds. The last door mirror glass I fitted was to a Citroen CX. The glass was heavy, brittle and needed glueing in place so had to be lined up and strapped to the adjuster mechanism while the glue set. When I bought the glass I discussed it with my local Citroen independent.
  • Too Good a Deal !! 16 Nov 2003 (Forum)
I like most of you have an interest in cars, therefore when any of my friends/ relatives are looking for cars, I am dragged along. My sister is looking for a C3 diesel, she has seen a deal today in Arnold Clark Citroen, brand new unregistered C3 1.4 HDI LX, list price £10,300, Citroen are doing their cashback deal of £1000 on this, but the dealer has taken it down to £7988 on the road! I have searched high and low and just cannot find a deal to match this - obviously what they will give her on her trade in may influence but the salesman knows there is going to be a trade in but this was the price he started with!
  • Internet car advert scam 8 Nov 2003 (Forum)
On replying, I then got this email, the contents of which I have cut ane pasted below. "Thanks for your email,i have called my shipper and he has promised to come for the pickup of Citroen as soon as we seal this transaction.A client of mine is owing me some fund in GBP (£4500),I will instruct him to issue a cashier cheque in your name and once the cheque clears,You will deduct the cost of the Citroen plus the tax and my balance will be send back to me via western union money transfer for immediate shipping arrangment. The reason for this is that it takes 1-2 days for a check to clear there while it takes a longer time for a check to clear here.If this is okay with you do get back to me immediately with your full name, contact address and phone number for me to instruct my client to issue the check in your name.
  • Reasonable expectations? 6 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Some of you may have seen my rant about a Citroen dealer in the thread about a new Picasso. I have just come back from another Citroen dealership which was at least clean, but still woefully poor (in my opinion) at customer service. This is what I expect when I go to a dealer for a new car. 1.

  • Sporty Coupe 21 Jan 2002 (Forum)
A cruise through the car-by-car breakdown and some other car sites has suggested a Puma, a Tigra or a Hyundai Coupe, to a budget of £10K. Showed Madame a picture of a Xsara coupe and got that stare again, so it won't be a Citroen. Any other suggestions? Big shock to the system the thought of buying non-Citroen, so I'm off to the pub to recover and hope the backroom will have it all sorted for me by the time I've downed a couple of pints of Black Sheep.
