New Mercedes C200K Bids to £20,400 19 Oct 2001 (News)
A new model Mercedes C200 Kompressor Elegance automatic made its auction debut today to a very favourable response from the trade. The 14,000 mile 2001X reg car bid to a strong £20,400 but the vendor wanted more. In contrast, an arch rival 23,000 mile 2001Y BMW 520i 2.2 litre SE bid to a mere £16,550. -

If anyone forgot that Small Status Sells they got a sharp reminder at BCA Blackbushe today. A 4,500 mile 2000W VW Polo 1.4SE automatic 3-door, which lists at £11,245, sold at open auction for all of £9,725. It wasn't the only VAG car to do well in the VW Financial Services section. A 39,000 mile 99S Audi A4 TDI 110 SE Avant romped away to a resounding £12,050. -

London’s first autonomous cars will be based on Heathrow Pods 29 Jan 2016 (News)
The first autonomous cars to go into service in London will be based on the Heathrow pods, two-person vehicles that automatically drive along a track between Terminal Five and the business car park. They will be introduced in Greenwich. Three UK companies are to work on the project. Westfield Sportscars is leading the prject, while Heathrow Enterprises is developing software and Oxbotica is working on mapping, localisation and perception to enable the pods to safely navigate Greenwich.The pods are being developed as part of an £8m project called GATEway (Greenwich Automated Transport Environment). -

New Suzuki Alto Qualifies for £70 VED 17 Jan 2003 (News)
Suzuki has launched its new Indian built Alto in the UK today. And this new 1.1 litre car emits just 119g/km CO2 which automatically qualifies of for £70pa VED. Combined consumption is very parsimonious too at 57.6mpg. Engine is a single cam 16v of 1,061cc which puts out 62PS and 85Nm (63lb ft) torque. The car is 3,495mm long by 1,475mm wide by 1,455 high. -

Prototype Discovery for sale at NEC show 17 Oct 2017 (News)
They featured leather seats, a Harman Kardon sound system and twin sunroofs, were supplied with automatic transmission but this is believed to be the sole manual gearbox example built. Honda previews adventure-style scooter in new video 26 Jul 2016 (News)
Underneath the curious dirtbike-cum-scooter bodywork are the underpinnings of the popular NC750 motorcycle and the Integra scooter - specifically a torquey, 54PS parallel twin engine with a DCT automatic transmission. Quite how much it will cost when it goes on sale in 2017 remains to be seen, but we imagine you’ll have to pay a premium over the £8,150 price of an Integra. It might not be a typical cheap urban runabout, but it’s nonetheless one of the most interesting scooters of recent years.
