Whats your Crash CV 4 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Sierra, reversing out of drive, rear door opened and ripped it off on the gate post. 90's Cavalier, Struck up rear at roundabout, new boot floor and hatch (nearly written off) Scenic, reversing out of drive, hit Mrs RF's Clio, no damage to Clio, rear door on Scenic sprung in. Took off door panel kicked dent and it sprung out. 2,000's Laguna, hit a Nissan thingy up the rear at roundabout (he's gone - my turn - ooppps!) Nissan badly deranged at rear, slight paint flake from Laguna. There, three decades of driving and a hit in every one, Just like Cliff Richard. -

What I should be aware of if want to purchase Japanese imports? I am thinking of Toyota Estima/Alphard, Nissan Elgrand or similar vehicle. I understand they are over 10 years old but banking on Japanese reliability. These are have all creature comforts and good base vehicle for campervan conversion later. -

Suzuki SX4 SZ4 998cc - The buying saga continues 10 Feb 2020 (Forum)
My Tucson lease went back and I want something similar but a lot cheaper. To that end I have been looking at manual Nissan Qashqai and Suzuki Vitaras. When I was speaking to the Suzuki garage they said that they had an SX4 pre-reg at a price that makes it cheaper than a used Fiesta at £11k so I am quite tempted. -
Best mid-sized auto/diesel SUV under £15k? 29 Oct 2019 (Forum)
Hey all I’ve narrowed down my hunt for a mid sized SUV with the following requirements: - Diesel (I do 13-16k miles/year) - Automatic - Sat nav, xenon, heated seats - Approx £15k budget - Don’t like French, British, Korean or Italian brands I test drove various models and have narrowed it down to: - Mazda CX-5 - BMW X1 - BMW X3 - Nissan Qashqai I’ve been put off by the reliability issues with Qashqai so realistically I think it’s got to be the Mazda or BMW. Which car from the list would you choose or not choose? I’d really appreciate any advice based on your own experience and not some forum hearsay’s. -
Sheep shearer in Spain needs advice 8 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Also needs at least 3 seats in back. Have been looking at 4x4 kangoos, dangel partners, berlingos, vitara lwb. Any ideas? Nissan Navara any good? Budget up to €6000. So far have been using our family megane estate with a roof rack and at times a trailer but it's getting wrecked on the rough terrain and my wife isn't very happy about taking it to work the next day smelling of sheep! -
SAAB 9-3 - Takata Airbag Recall 20 Feb 2016 (Forum)
In the US Takata have been fined by authorities for the way they handled this debacle. Here in the UK Nissan, Honda and Toyota have recalled about 600,000 vehicles between them to have inflator modules replaced across a number of models. In the US however, General Motors have been forced to recall all Saab 9-3s and Saturns. -
Help! Need advice on a small family car 15 May 2015 (Forum)
Want something smallish but a 5 door automatic hatchback for under £8500k and no older than a 2011/12. I`ve sort of narrowed it down to either a Nissan Note 1.6 ntec 2013 , like the spec and price. dislike image a little. Mercedes A-Class 2011 , like the brand, concerned about maintenance costs. Any other suggestions. Really want to avoid ford, vauxhall, anything french or italian ,had our fair share of those, and want something different. -
Help buying used car 12 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Hi all – I own a 3 year old Nissan Qashqai. I'd like to sell or part ex it for something smaller as it's just being used for school runs etc now instead of the longer work journey's it used to do. I've checked online and it looks like I could get anywhere from 9-11k for it. -
Mercedes citan - Mercedes Citan Combi passenger vehicle UK? 26 Apr 2013 (Forum)
It appears GM have decided not to bring the Vauxhall combo combi passenger car to the UK which is soled on mainland europe as a Opel Combo Combi passenger car. We are in the market to buy 2 of these vehicles and noticed Nissan sell the NV200 as a passenger car. If anyone has tried the nV200 and can give some feedback, I would appreciate it. If anyone knows if Mercedes are bringing a passenger version of the Citan (Passenger not Crew van), I would appreciate the heads up. -
Faulty engine light 25 Apr 2013 (Forum)
I bought a used Nissan Micra (2005) about 10 days ago from Auto Bristol ltd but the engine faulty light came on just after a week. (I couldn’t drive the car for a week after I bought it because the battery was completely dead – had to call AA twice to get the car started). -
DFSK Loadhopper - Chinese cars, now Chinese vans 8 May 2012 (Forum)
I seem like I am asking alot this past day regarding vehicles, but the business would benefit from at least 1 slim van, this really fits the bill. I looked at a Nissan NV200 instead of another Peugeot Partner or Citroen Berlingo, but the NV200 is more akin to the Toyota Hiace and the list price is expensive for what it is. Again, any advice welcome. -
Watchdog 20/10/11 26 Oct 2011 (Forum)
*Looks at Fiat 500* Well its hardly a motorway cruising estate barn is it?!? And as for Nissan's 'Urbanproof' Cashcow, well that just confirmed all the stick we give that thing to be justified. -
Sorry, very dull topic!! - Washing greasy overalls/work clothes 1 Aug 2011 (Forum)
My son has just started an apprenticeship for one of my customers who imports, tunes and develops high spec Jap sportscars (Nissan GTr's, Subaru's etc) and loves his job. The workshops are almost sterile in cleanliness terms but he somehow comes home filthy most days! Aside of telling him NOT to wipe dirty hands on his clothing does anyone have any tips on the most effective way to wash dirty clothes?! -
any - used car market jordan 20 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I am out in the middle east for a couple of weeks, and seeing lots of the older european cars here, many with the german numberplate surrounds still on, and what a variety, seen one korean rover 800 copy(daewoo?), lots of nissan sunnys, toyota corollas, still sold new here, seen a roewe 750 up close, like the lines at the back, but not sure of that square grille on the front. one chinese Roller lookalike. Also seen lots of the saloon variants of the ceed and i30, which look much better balanced as cars. quite a trip back in time. -
Are Toyotas still worth buying? 14 Jul 2010 (Forum)
However, after the recent scares with accelerator pedals and some reports of high mileage older Avensises burning oil, are Toyotas worth buying as I am considering a Toyota for when I trade in my Nissan? -
"Interference" Engines 23 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Why can't all engines be built like this, so people only have to pay the £200 for a new cambelt-kit, instead of a thousand or more for a recon engine? The main reason I bought a Nissan Almera was because it's got a chain instead of a belt. Why don't manufacturers stick with chains? Am I being cynical in thinking it's because the dealers will get more money from continuous belt-changes, and all the engine repairs after snapped belts?! -
Which car companies will be left in 10 years time? 20 Dec 2009 (Forum)
With the demise of Saab and others on their death beds and the governments of Europe legislating to make our cars clone-like and fuel efficient above all else I am left wondering who will still be standing in the mainstream in ten years time? I would suggest we might have : One French company (with Nissan); VAG; KIA/Hyundai; Ford (& Volvo?); Toyota (& Subaru?) and Beijing automotive (who I think will be selling us cheap Roewe 75's and the Saab technologies they have just picked up). I wonder where Opel or its offspring might be? -
what's it worth ? 18 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Would appreciate some opinions on the expected sale value of a minor company asset, that's hardly been used over the past 12 months ; 1996 Nissan Patrol LWB GX 4.2 Petrol Auto ( 6 cyl ) , fitted with a working LPG conversion. The number plate is - apparently - worth a grand and will be included. This car has been owned by us since 1998 and the mileage of 98000 is warranted.
