Ari Vatanen’s 205 rally car for sale 3 Feb 2016 (News)
A Peugeot 205 rally car driven by Ari Vatanen will go under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s Monaco sale in May. The Turbo 16 Evolution 1 Group B could fetch up to £604,000 when it heads to auction on 14 May. The car is one of the most iconic and successful Group B rally cars of its era, winning both the 1985 Monte Carlo and Swedish rally. -
Win a Skoda Yeti 19 Feb 2014 (News)
Skoda is celebrating the launch of its Yeti Outdoor by giving one away. Skoda has frozen a car in a block of ice in Covent Garden, London and is inviting the public to win the car by guessing the weight of the car and the ice. The car in question is a Yeti Outdoor Elegance 2.0 TDI CR 170PS 4x4 model – which weighs 1,465kg – but to win the keys you will need to work out (or guess) the total weight of the car and the ice. -

The SMMT predicts that a rise in exports will see Britain build two million cars annually by 2017 as Europe recovers from its deepest recession in living memory. British car production last reached its peak in the late 1960s, when more than two million cars were built annually. -
New car market grew 3.5% in June 5 Jul 2012 (News)
The number of new cars registered was up 3.5% in June – the fourth successive monthly increase. Overall the new car market in the UK has grown 2.7% in 2012 so far. More than half of new car registrations were to fleets and businesses, with 42.2% being registered to private buyers. -

According to a recent survey the majority of drivers are travelling around in cars painted in a colour they don’t like. Manheim auctions conducted a survey which reveals that most people – 31% of males and 30% of females - want black cars, but only 14% if men and 12% of women actually drive a black car. -

Tim Bearder, Editor of the CAP Black Book used car price guide, explained that the auctions market is in decline because people lack confidence when selling, expecting more than list value for their cars. He went on to explain that there are too many high mileage, poor quality used cars in the marketplace for which there is little demand. -
