Revitalised 1964 Mini Cooper/new owner destroyed ! 27 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Some years ago I bought a 1964 998cc Mini Morris Cooper MK1 that was tarten red with a black roof in colour & was some what boy racer-ed up with alloys, bucket seats, engine modifications, roll cage, aftermarket mirrors etc etc. Having bought it my father said it had surely been re painted as although there was a red and black one when new in 1964, the colour was a different shade. -
Roundabout absent road markings 17 May 2024 (Forum)
There'a a B road near me which has recently been resurfaced (shock horror) but the road workers have not painted the mini roundabout marking yet. The street signs are still in place. I wondered what the legal position might be if the road markings are missing? Is it still legally a roundabout? No I've not had an incident, just curious! -
French car reliability 19 Sep 2014 (Forum)
Monday's Times reports a 'survey' (apparently from Warranty Direct) showing that the reliability of French cars is second only to Japanese, followed by S.Korea, US, Swedish, German, Italian and guess-who. They did admit that Nissan, Honda and Mini were not classed as British. Anyhow, what price Peugeot and Renault, given the stick wielded by some regulars on this forum? :-) -
March Sales 6 Apr 2007 (Forum)
I see the new car market was up 3.1% in March, with superminis up 6.6%. The New new MINI sales are up by only 2.4%, which must be a bit of a disappointment for BMW now that the new model is fully on stream and production capacity has been increased. But the gold medal goes to Dodge whose sales are up a massive 28,200% (they sold 566 cars). -
BMW Triple Crown 5 Jun 2003 (Forum)
In the 2003 International Engine of the Year Awards, I see BMW have won 3 awards. In the 1.6 to 1.8 litre category, the winning votes went to the 1.6L MINI Cooper S, - In the 2.0 to 2.5 litre it went to the 325i engine as will be fitted to the new Z4, - and in the 3.0 to 4.0 litre category, it went to the 3.2 litre motor as fitted to the M3. -

Triumph, Austin Healey etc 23 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Who now owns these brand names, BMW or MG / Rover. So sad that the new Mini is a BMW {however, possibly a better engineered car as a BMW than the now small car maker - MG Rover, could have produced?. Any chance of seeing a new Stag, Spitfire or Healey 3000? If so who will have the rights to the names? -

New car for the Mrs 5 Jul 2019 (Forum)
Either that or buy another reliable Yaris. Here’s the line up: - Fiat 500x - Honda Civic - Mazda 2 - Mini 5dr - Nissan Juke We like the 500x but it sure on reliability, Civic is safe bet, Mazda 2 fine but same size as Yaris, Mini is good but parts and servicing is a bit expensive, love the Juke cos of its higher ride can get a good spec for money. -

Accident Feedback and One bent Carina 11 Feb 2003 (Forum)
He said it needs jigging out at the back three quarter panel. He also said it would sell as it is to the mini cab trade for repair. I only want to get rid of the car now. Do I try to get a cheap repair myself and sell it or sell it as is for say £300 to £400 to someone with more dodgy repair routes than me, the car is perfect apart from this the engine, gearbox and interior must be worth £700 to a mini-cabber???
