  • low/zero depreciation 1 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Hi I've read loads in the press about certain cars (Mini Cab, SLK, CLK Cab, SL, Boxster, etc) have extremely low depreciation due to demand. Extremes being of people buying Mini's/SLKs, using them for a year and still getting list price. The question I have is - is this really feasible in the real world, or is it a myth.

  • Brit volt in administration 19 Jan 2023 (Forum)
So what does this say about the UK s future for EV manufacturing. So disappointing to learn BMW plan to cease production of the electric Mini in the UK and transfer manufacturing to China. But surely Nissan , Moke and hopefully Toyota will need this essential component ?

  • Strange car - sad incident 10 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Fire crews from nearby Fakenham and another from Wells, police and paramedics were called after the man, driving a silver Vauxhall Anglia, received injuries to his chest, stomach, pelvis and leg. The teenager, who was driving a pink Mini, received head injuries and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with the other casualty.
  • Which small car for £3,000 ? 18 Feb 2009 (Forum)
If you had three grand to spend on a super-mini, or perhaps the next size up, what would you be looking at? A female friend is asking me and I haven't got a clue what to suggest. She'd like a good compromise between sportiness and economy, and occasional need to carry four people.
  • And the first 58 plate I saw was....... 13 Sep 2008 (Forum)
If the pessimistic approach is taken the first 58 plate any of us sees (if one is seen) should be a Hyundai I10, a Fiat 500, a mini Citroen, Peugot, Toyota or something along those lines or generally green and with low VED. I wonder. So what was the first 58 plate you saw?
  • Rear seat belt 17 Mar 2007 (Forum)
The centre rear seatbelt stalk has stopped working, probably due to ingress of mini jelly baby. We don't use it much anyway but it'll be an MOT failure. I can't see any way to open it up at all,can you get replacements from a dismantler or is there a law forbidding sale of used safety belts?
  • B&W Number plates 21 Oct 2005 (Forum)
I have recently noticed a trend that quite recent cars are being driven with black and white plates. (I have seen several X5s and a few MINIs) You would have thought that the suppliers of such plates would have warned the purchaser that they were illegal. And what about MOT time? Do they swop them for the test?
  • Awful colour 5 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Saw a new Mini earlier today and I have to say I was aghast at the colour of it, best described as off white or light grey. Each to their own etc but surely the young lady driving it will take a big hit at trade in time due to the colour.

  • Don't miss this. 26 Mar 2002 (Forum)
It has an engine, brakes, tyres and you will never get done for speeding in it. Keep your Rolls, Mercs, Mini etc I wish I had one. And if they did restore it in 14 days then I'll eat HJ's hat. DVD
