  1995 K11 Nissan Micra. Blaupunkt radio/cassette, factory standard. The auto play cassette has suddenly stopped functioning. Radio is OK. Normally, you slot a cassette in and it should start to play. Also, the Fast Forward is not working.

  The original back box on our 1.6 primera will need replacing this year, the question is should I buy a genuine nissan back box (given that the original lasted over 6 years) or should I buy a fast fit back box, which, from previous experience with other cars, seem to last two years? I guess it comes down to price but is there a difference in quality?

  Hello, Could anyone give me advice, possibly through personal expoerience, on which insurance companies are happy with insuring imported Japanese vehicles ie, Toyota Townace, Nissan Prairie etc. Many insurance companies don't want to know with imports. even just third part F & T. Can anyone say why ? Any comments much appreciated

  Now from having a few spots of oil on my drive and nearly £200 bill from previous garage who did not fix my problem i am getting a little bit worried now ,i asked a local mechanic for his advice and he said i should really take it to an authorised Nissan dealer & they would be able to find out the real cause but when i called the local Nissan they qouted me £110 an hour for diagnostic check & in this case it may well run into hours. Now i simply cannot afford that but niether can i afford to keep paying tin pot garages money just to tell me what the problem is not !

  As the oil came up to level it just began to trickle out of the affected seal at quite a rate which led me to lay the vehicle up until I could replace the oil seal which was put on order for me. Three weeks ago I did the job fitting the new Nissan Seal and everything was spot on with no oil leak whatsoever. Last saturday just before setting out on a 250 mile round trip I caught the wiff of gear oil on the garage forecourt but everything still seemed dry around the seal and nothing dropping to the floor at all.

  Car was towed to the specified body shop for repair by the insurance company. Body work repaired the car was taken to a Nissan dealer who stated no faults were shown in the diagnostics and the engine has a serious fault with no compression on cylinders 1 and 3? Insurers have refused to investigate any further and the car being returned.

  So the plan is put the Micra back on the road, flog the Pug, she gets my Punto for a couple of months while I kick about in the Micra, then buy a real car. That plus the fact that even with 173k on it, the Nissan still well outlast the Pug. I know it?s just a Micra, but I love that wee car, it outlasted my ex-wife and proved much more reliable. It owes me nothing and costs peanuts to run. Anyway I digress, we need to therefore be running 3 cars for a bit until the Pug is sold, at which point the Nissan will be insured by the girl.

  My Daughters Infiniti Q30 electronic steering control unit has failed and there is no spare parts availability in Europe and according to the dealer she bought the car off (its under warranty) Infiniti ceased selling cars in the UK in 2019 so well within the 10 year obligated spare part supply period. Nissan cannot give a date of when this part will be next in stock so couple of questions...  What obligation does the car dealer have to provide a courtesy car until repair is done? What obligation do they have to offer a re-fund / buy back (minus the 6 months of ownership)?
