  Hi All, Just had an interesting discovery having had a puncture on my BMW 330 (a gash in they tyre which made it flat very very quickly!)...... The space saver spare will *Not* fit onto the wheel - it fouls on the brake calliper - confirmed by breakdown recovery chap !!!!

  Audi are pretty well out of it having "deffed her out" on visiting the local dealer. Volvo a possibility, as recommended by a sensible BMW dealer who's vehicles are apparently a trifle short on the leg space. So, a fairly broad spec. I, for once, have simply no opinion! Grateful for any insights given.

  s security was the easiest to overcome and resisted for just eight seconds.   damaging headlight front bumper and drivers wing. Insurance co. want to use "nationwide crash repair centre", the vehicle is a BMW 528 and I want a decent repair. Am I being unnecessarily picky thinking that they may be a bit of a volume rather than quality place. I can take it to a place the local sytner bmw place use for their repairs which I assume should be a better indicator of quality but there is more aggro (estimates, engineers, replacement vehicle) this way, however the vehicle is still driveable so don't mind a few delays delay.

• Fuel consumption issue 525i SE 24 Feb 2004 (Forum)
  Got an e39 525i SE auto and the obc says I'm getting about 16-17mpg around town (car idles about 700-800rpm steadily and my own calculations mirror the obc reading). BMW reckon I should be getting about 25mpg. Basically, zero load, careful driving but the economy doesn't improve. The car was serviced by BMW 2k miles ago for what it's worth. What I haven't done is to take it for a motorway run.
