  My car is now 6,6 years old, Bought it from Renault retail group as a Pre Reg , So only paid £11,500 for it , Its a 1.5 Diesel with 41000 Miles on the clock This has to be one of the cheapest cars that i have ever owned and i am planning on keeping it for another 6 years and more if possible Since new, Its had new brake discs and pad and a new ball joint plus a set of tyre's and it gets a service every year Looking at the future, Would it be recommended to have a garage to replace all parts that maybe starting to come to the end of there life like the exhaust, Suspension parts, Timing belt  and other parts that may need replaced at some time or is it better to just wait until i get issues.

  quick question - hired a car for a short break in Ireland (a wedding), chose Ford Mondeo or similar (familiar with car as Dad has one and fits my wife & I plus 3 kids plus bags & buggies easily) - arrived late in the Evening at Shannon Airport and got given a Renault Fluence that "is the same size car". It was late, we were tired, i wasn't familiar with that car, so off we went to collect. Quickly apparent it was not the same size as a Mondeo. and we couldnt' get 2 normal sized suitcases plus the Baby buggy into the boot at once, let alone the kids hand luggage little bags as well.

  Hi, please be gentle as my first post.  I brought a Renault Megane Scenic 01 with 1 months engine and gear box warranty 13 days later, and 210 miles and the cambelt snaps.  I have spoken to Trading Standards who advised under Sale of goods Act I should contact the dealer and state that the car was not fit for a reasonable length of time and I am seeking a full refund.

  I texted uk garage but received no reply. I rang breakdown insurers who arranged for car to be mended at nearest local Renault garage in Paris. They said both the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. This took 5 days and meant we had to use hire car and book 1 night extra on our holiday. When we returned to UK we visited the garage (in Yorkshire) who told us they wouldn't give a refund as we should have had car towed back to them!

  We have found it fairly easy to market the Royces, but we are looking for advice on how to best sell a 1919 Renault type EU. It needs a respray, but runs and drives lovely. It would make an excellent recommissioning project for someone. What I am asking, is how rare are these vehicles, what are they worth, and what would be the best place to advertise such a vehicle?

  The sudden release of tension on the cables has flung them off the pulleys, and both have been damaged (frayed) by the still turning motor jamming them between the pulley and mechanism. The motor is still perfectly OK The sliding rail and frame are still perfectly OK. Renault want £200 for a complete new regulator. How that is justified I don't know! There are secondhand "genuine" ones on Ebay for 70 quid or so. There are pattern new ones on Ebay for 50 quid or so. There are rebuild kits available with new cables and spools, and replacement glass holders - total cost about 30 quid with postage.

  i have a 2007 vauxhall movano(renault master), it wouldnt start at all 4 weeks ago, dianostic said faulty air mass meter so changed that and now it starts however it revs at 1700 on its own, throttle pedal doesnt work and the stop lights on the dash are flashing, after clearing codes off before its coming up with throttle postioning sensor now so swaped the pedal over with another van thats the same and still nothing, when you put your foot on the brake the revs drop down to normal tick over, have changed the complete throttle pedal unit as i mentioned, also changed the Renault Scenic 1.5 Dci (2004 - 54 plate) - Check Injection Fault - Cold Start problems 2 Jan 2011 (Forum)
  Booked it into a garage  but really strugggled to start it that day -after maybe 8 or more efforts the battery ran down, so needed to bel jump-started. The Renault Dealership in Luxembourg (we moved here 3 months back) diagnosed it as needing 4 new INJECTORS (full set) and bits that go with them for 1900 Euros ! The car cost us £3300 just 3 years back so unless I can get a better quote over the border or a better diagnosis then may even have to give up on the car.

  The battery is charging at 14.3volts when the car is running, once the car has been started, even for only minutes it will then start and run all day with no problems, it just seems that it never wants to start if it is left more than 8-10 hours, diesel is getting to the pump ok, and the heater plugs work as they were tested out of the car resting on the engine. Renault have had this car in there garage 4 times and we have paid over £500 for work that made no differance, the car starts ok when the whether is warm ie during the summer months....it just does not like the cold.

  Hiya, Im hoping someone out there may be able to help. I have an 03 renault laguna 1.9dci privelage it had an intermitent fault where when your driving it very briefly looses complete power like the engine has cut out then just as quick as it happened it carries on as normal. someone reccomended cleaning the egr valve which i did using carb cleaner, i cleaned as much of it as possible and put it all back together again. that seems to have solved the problem of the cut out issues but now has a different fault.

  Hi Looking for some honest judgement and advice from those in the know. I have a 2002 petrol automatic 1.8 Renault Scenic (5 door expression+ with 70000 miles). It has the well discussed problem where the brake servo hisses (needing a replacement of the sealed unit costing 200+ and 5 hours of labour to fix).

  My 1999 renault scenic 1.6 does not appear to be running smooth. For about a week now the car has been shuddering and jumping when pulling away. This is particuarly noticable when pulling away in traffic the car does not pull away smooth but rather jumpie as if i were pressing my foot up and down on the excelerator.

  Hi I have just bought a Renault Kangoo RXE 1.4 petrol (year 2000) It starts and runs fine but I the hand book shows two warning lights that don't appear to work on my car. The one I am most concerned about is the 'tell-tale light 2' (a rectangular box with a zig zag line in it).
