  However there is now a new menace on the roads, and it had to come from a German manufacturer, didn't it? I am talking about the Audi S6 (or is it RS6) with the multiple LED sidelights. They look like multiple fog lights to me and are far brighter than they need to be. I don't know if they are day-running lights like the Volvos, but every Audi S6/RS6 I have seen so far has then on.

  Brother in law has a vw passat 130hp tdi sport on a 02 plate with 95k on the clock. He has had it for approx 8 months. He has an eye on an audi and wants to sell the vw. He is asking £4500 for it. He keeps it in good condition and regularly services it. He took it to a garage which had the audi. The garage offered aroung £4500 but when they found it is a taxi they valued it at £3500.

  This is a new situation to me so would appreciate peoples opinions and reccomendations. I currently drive a 2003 Audi A4 diesel that has done 118,000 miles. I would like either: a new(ish) car that is out of the ordinary (Alfa GT possibly?) to use all of the time or something for the weekly slog and then a nice car for the weekend (softtop of some kind) Budget is 10K plus what I can get for my Audi (or do I keep that!)

  I have an A4 1.9TDi is shortly due for a timing belt. I am getting conflicting stories from 2 Audi dealers, 1 VW dealer and an independant. The belt was last replaced at 56879miles and the car is currently on 111388miles. The Audi garages are suggesting leaving it until the recomened service interval which is showing 8400 to go on the onboard computer.

  With thanks to those who responded to my last thread, I have just about resolved to keep my much-loved Audi (which is two this week) for another 6-12 months, in the hope that its value will sink at a lower rate than the amount owed under the PCP - thus creating a deposit on a new one. But then - there is a very good finance deal going on the Mercedes B-class (M-B put up a deposit and there's a 2.9 % APR) which would involve monthly payments about £120 less than I'm paying for the Audi.

  Audi are pretty well out of it having "deffed her out" on visiting the local dealer. Volvo a possibility, as recommended by a sensible BMW dealer who's vehicles are apparently a trifle short on the leg space.

  Hi Folks, How do I test drive an automatic to get a feel for the condition of the autobox? I'm on the search for a large reliable cheap load lugger. The latest possibles are an Audi A6 2.0 SE (N plate, 130k miles) and an Audi 100 2.6 SE (K plate 102k miles). I'm happy enough with the prices being asked but in Honest Johns Car by Car breakdown he suggests to be aware that the autobox might be worn.

  Watching Driven this week {CH4} with the Rover 75 estate {AKA MG ZTX or similar}, V the Lexus and Audi, never mind which is best now, which will be best at 5 years old? The Audi will look as new, the Lexus will have had nothing changed at all, apart from serviving, the Rover, with its doddgy engine will have had its head gasket changed twice, the bumpers will all be cracked and most of the trim will have fallen off.

Honda CRV 1.6 DTEC 2wd Mazda 6 2.0 Skyactiv Estate Mazda CX5 2.0 Skyactiv Audi A4 1.4 TSI Avant Audi Q3 1.4 TSi Sadly no Toyota’s permitted due to gaffers inability to get on with the seats in my old Avensis. I will try to pap her into a RAV4 or a newer Corolla estate however.

  Hi all, I'm looking at getting my 2nd approved used from Audi, no issues with the first one but worried about the 2nd (not yet finalised). 3yr old car, 30k on the clock, runs great and has all I need in terms of specs, but... 1) alloys were scratched - dealer promptly fixed it 2) very odd vertical scratches below the driver door - 100s of them and going beyond the sill onto the body.
