• Cold starting problem on a Nissan QX 26 Mar 2007 (Forum)
  For almost a year now we have been experiencing an intermittent cold start problem on our N-reg Nissan QX (3.0-litre, European edition, 85,000 miles). The engine starts instantly, but immediately after that will not fast idle and dies. It has to be started and "caught" manually with the accelerator pedal which is difficult to do and usually pushes far too much petrol through the motor, usually flooding it.

  My parents have just retired and have taken away my Nissan QX for a year on the basis that I have a good job :( I am now on the look out for a Nissan 200SX after going through the C-B-C breakdowns and achieves. I can spend upto 4000 pounds and am hoping for a 97R reg car with 60000 miles on the clock.

  I don't park under a tree or in contact with any shrubbery, nothing. Weird - can they leap from tyre to wheel arch? And it's not a Nissan S-Cargo either....

  2 weeks ago I had my car booked in with Nissan dealer to major service (£269), air bag recall and MOT. Picked it up, paid for service booked stamped,, passed MOT no advisories, said all done. Then I had a call last week to say they hadn't serviced it or checked air bag recall even though they'd charged me and stamped my book.

  ;0) Well, I\'m pushing 30 and the thought of a new kitchen doesn\'t excite me as much. Excuse excuse... After agonizing between Renault and Nissan, I decided to go for the Nissan, but the dealer wouldn?t bring down the price to the internet price(difference of £200). Now I feel guilty to buy off the net as salesman did all the work, just to lose the customer to an internet shop ( in my case AUTOBYTEL).
