VW Golf - Outstanding finance 31 Oct 2020 (Forum)
I’ve put a £250 deposit for a 2016 VW Golf. I just did an HPI check and it has outstanding finances flagged. Does anyone know if it’s possible that no OF are still there and the flags just not been taken down? I’m in a pickle on whether to inform the car garage selling it or call those potentially chasing the car/cash. -

Settling outstanding finance when buying a car 3 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Hello, A friend of mine has seen and agreed a price on a BMW 3 series Touring. There are two issues (possibly not but neither or my friend have had to settle finance before) 1) The car is 150 miles away 2) There is outstanding finace... this was known from the start We understand that whatever price is agreed the buyer pays the finance and gives any balance to the PO. -
FIAT 500 - Voluntary terminate a PCP, finance company charge? 8 Sep 2018 (Forum)
Hi, My wife currently has a Fiat 500 and wants to switch to another on a lease scheme. She's contacted Fiat finance and they've said she is far enough through her current PCP to voluntary terminate, which is good, however they've told her that there would be a £100 charge if the collect the car compared to if we drive it somewhere they decree. -

Any - Cheaper funding options 27 Apr 2017 (Forum)
I can settle existing finance settlements and the finance is attaached to the vehicle which is more protection for you, we simply send the dealer the funds. Please contact me on (deleted) (If someone is stupid enough to think they'll get away with free advertising, just imagine what the quality of their advice must be like.) -
Finance maths lesson please 9 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I've just looked at a manufacturers website who claim 4.9% APR List price of the car is 27905 Deposit 5100 Dealer contribution 1621 Leaving a balance of 21184 from which 12600 is the payment deferred to 3 years This means they are really lending you about 8500 with the bulk being deferred to the end of the lease period which you then have to finance or refinance. The quoted Total charge for credit is 2455 That's about 28.5% by my calculations. Since when does 4.9%APR over 3 years add up to 28.5% ? I've noticed a few manufacturers doing this in the back of car magazines. -

PCP finance agreement equity checker 7 Feb 2018 (Forum)
Hi everyone, Is there a service to check current market value of the car on a PCP finance agreement and compare it to the PCP settlement figure? Thereby working out whether I'm in negative equity or positive equity? Obviously for the majority of the PCP finance agreement it will be negative, but on my last deal (Audi S3 2010) I found that I was in positive equity almost a year prior to my agreement ending! -
Crazy finance deal & "non passed driver" 28 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Way back in around 1970 a mate of a mate - who I met occasionally had a desire for a brand new car. He earned very little and there was no way he could afford `regular` finance. However, one day he turned up in a brand new Ford Escort. The horror story is, that he had managed to find finance over 10yrs - but was paying back more than three times the cash price of the car.
