    The Ferrari F550 is generally reckoned to be one of the nicest late front-engined Ferraris. (It’s the first and only car I have driven at over 170mph.)  This is a lot better than that because it’s one of a series built to celebrate a 550 covering 100 miles at an average of 190.2mph, one hour at an average of 184mph and 100 kilometres at an average speed of 188.9mph.

    When it changed hands again, the new owner was former president of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) Max Mosely, who kept the Daytona – the last of Ferrari’s front-engined GT’s – until 2005, when it was purchased by the current vendor. In November 2008, fans of BBC TV’s Top Gear programme witnessed the car take centre stage in a race from Portofino to Saint-Tropez.

    Toyota's ES3 (Eco Spirit Cubic) prototype is probably the most efficient, environmentally friendly four-seater car yet built. With its aluminium and resin body the car weighs just 700kg and has a Cd value of 0.23. The engine is a turbocharged 1.4-litre direct-injection diesel engine combined with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

    Both were plenty of car for the money. As was a 42,000 mile 99T FIAT Marea 155 HLX 20v Weekend which raised a top bid of just £4,500. Even lumpy E46 BMWs are getting down to the £10k bracket with an air-conditioned 91,000 mile 99T 318iSE selling for its reserve of £10,400.

    The Jaguar E-type was laid-up in 1982 – since which time the car has covered just 300 miles. It has a Martin Robey shell with new (in 1982) doors, bootlid, interior trim and hood. New front wings and under pan are loosely fitted. The car is emerging from long-term storage ripe for re-commissioning and the completion of the restoration project.

With the decision made that that the new car should be a larger car than the P6, work began on developing a replacement. King himself did not want a larger car, and the desire to make the new car larger came from above: ‘I had a lot to do with the machine that went into P8 before it ever happened, and I didn’t ever want it to be as big a car as P8.

  • Volkswagen unveils all-new Tiguan 15 Sep 2015 (News)
    .  The amount of space offered in the cabin has taken a step forward with the larger wheelbase, with more head and legroom for those in the front and back. Boot space has also been increased to 615 litres with the rear seats in place and 1655 litres with them lowered, representing a gain of 145 litres. Power will come from a range of four-cylinder diesels - 1.6 and 2.0-litre - with outputs ranging from 115PS to 240PS.
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia launched 15 Sep 2015 (News)
    Like the Jaguar XE, the Giulia boasts a curved bonnet, narrow sweptback headlights and Alfa Romeo’s trademark V-shaped grille. The front of the car also carries large air intakes, while the sharp lines and coupe styled rear features a large spoiler.
