  I don't want to let up any pressure on the dipsticks who keep infesting every overtaking place with these highway robbery cashgrabbers. But Martyn feels very strongly that The Backroom is seeing too many separate speed camera/speed limit related postings. So please could Backroomers confine threads on this subject to a maximum of one a day, and if you want to make a new point, simply post it onto that day's speed camera/speed limit thread rather than start a new one.

  All requirement are listed and I can say right now that there are no cameras that I have seen in North Wales that comply with these criteria. So, according to the ABD and the government, the NorthWales police should not be getting any money from the fines. Enjoy.

  Apparently a new speed camera type is being rolled out. According to an article one in Cornwall caught over 600 drivers in a week, this thing can get red light jumpers, non seat belt wearers etc etc. It is also multidirectional, Captain Gatso will be furious.

  Is a GPS speed camera detector worth having? I've seen the Inforad GPS detector advertised for ~£90 but am not sure if it's worth having. Do you need radar detection to be useful? Anybody got any experience of Inforad?

  On the M4 between J11 and J8/9 has anyone seen any mobile camera vans ? I saw something yesterday on a bridge between J10 and J8/9 eastbound which looked suspicious, is this just me being paranoid, or are they using these 'highway robbery' vans on this stretch ?

  Has anyone else noticed the two (at least) new/newish cameras cleverly hidden in the upright posts of the dot-matrix information signs on the eastbound M4 between jn 8/9 and the m25? I wonder what safety considerations have applied here (ha, ha!)

  I noticed this morning that the SPECS cameras have been installed over the eastbound carriageway. Not above the westbound one yet. Thankfully I am off for the next two weeks, just hope I don't forget when I get back. Jonathan

  Quick question on reversing camera kits. Does anyone have any experience with wireless reversing camera kits? I'm weighing up whether to go for a wireless unit or a standard wired kit. I have heard that interference can be a problem with the wireless version, like when you drive through busy areas and pick up other CCTV signals.

  Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon announces in today's Sunday Telegraph that speed traps could be replaced with "fairer" cameras. Thereby demonstrating beyond any doubt that we are firmly established in the hell described by George Orwell in his seminal work 1984. Mr Hoon is of course referring to average speed cameras.
