Dependable and unpretentious

This is a car you overlook at your peril. Eye catching, no nonsense looks, roomy interior and a well founded reputation for reliability and longevity, this very capable SUV can also take you further off road than many of its rivals which struggle with a pothole festooned High Street. It has genuine off road ability and copes with the worst winter can throw at it when in SNOW / MUD mode and can actually allow you to lock the differential when it would mean lesser SUV's would get bogged down. The 1.4 'Boosterjet' engine pulls well and is lifted straight from the Swift Sport and dropped into the Vitara without any tweaks meaning decent performance and very good mpg. The Vitara is well equipped, climate control, keyless entry, and a host of driver assistance tech, including hill descent, most of which will cost you extra if you purchase another SUV. The interior may not be to everyone's taste but it's hard wearing, durable and easy to clean. The car is easy, and comfortable to drive, and when in 'Sport' mode, can surprise some warm hatches in the performance and handling department. This very capable car is built for use by families or the outdoor enthusiast, and is constructed using solid built materials, which are proven to work well and which will do so for a long time. Suzuki has long been regarded as something of an off-road specialist, so the Allgrip technology will serve you well when venturing into the countryside or dealing with inclement weather. There maybe more spacious or upmarket SUV's out there, but you wont get more value for your hard earned cash than the Vitara.
