Easy to get into, get out of, and easy to drive

My wife has arthritis in her left knee so we had to buy an automatic car: we drive only 8/9K miles per annum so a diesel was immediately rejected.
We are both in our 70s with increasingly stiff limbs so we wanted a car that was easy to step into and get out of: thus a 'Crossover' was needed, An automatic Vitara that was just 7 months old with a low mileage at a reasonable price became available at a nearby used car dealership so we snapped it up: it came with "All Grip" (4 wheel drive): having relied on winter tyres for many years (we live in a hilly area) the availability of 4 wheel drive is a useful bonus, although not essential.
We find the car easy to drive and ideal for a retired couple.

The two disadvantages so far noticed concern the door mirrors:
Our previous car, a Vauxhall Vectra had a useful feature whereby if one adjusted the driver's door mirror, the passenger door mirror would exactly mirror the movements of the driver's mirror. However on the Vitara, one has to alter each door mirror separately: however the Vitara's user manual is so challenging to read that there may be a feature whereby I can connect both door mirrors.
The second problem concerns the retraction of the door mirrors. A Dutch friend has a Peugeot 307 whose door mirrors retract when he locks his car: thus when he leaves the car he has only to look back at it to check that he did not forget to lock it. When I saw retracting mirrors described for the Vitara SZ5 on the Suzuki website I assumed this was a similar feature to that provided on our friend's Peugeot: however the Vitara instead features a tiny button on the driver's door that retracts both door mirrors. Disappointingly the Vitara's door mirrors do not retract automatically on locking it.
I only collected the car on Tuesday 25th July so am not yet able to check the fuel consumption.
