good but trouble to come?

i,ve had the car from new for 6 1/2 years and apart from a couple of recalls i have had no problems. recently i had a battery charge warning on the dash. i looked on the forums and it looks like the BPGA unit could be faulty which seems to be a common problem. i rang the dealer and they said they are aware of the problem and to bring it in to run a check which will cost £160, i took it to my local garage instead who did a check for £40 and the car set a record of 138 electrical faults. unfortunately with that many faults he can't do anything so now i've got to go back to the dealer and pay stupid money on a car that has done less than 17000 miles. in my opinion if it's a known fault which the dealer admitted over the phone Peugeot should do something about it but as they said unless a lot of people report the same fault then as it is out of warranty then it is bad luck.
