BMW X1 (2015 - 2022)
2018 x1 2.0i x line
What a disappointment!
I have talked on this site about this particular model, loved the car, and decided to buy the same again with a much lower mileage ( 3,000 miles). Everything went well for over 18 months, by which time it had covered only 13,000 miles, before tragedy struck! On moving off there was a loud thud and a bang from the gearbox which shook the car, only option was to turn around and go back home. The final outcome was that it needed a new gear box at an eye watering figure. I decided to exchange the car at BMW for the new model which I am very satisfied with. So, Beware of the Aisin 8 speed ….. lovely when it’s working, but other people have experienced problems with it. So, the latest car features a 7 speed. dct. and would you believe it? It’s better! (new car is a 23i m/sport)
