Auto load lugger 10 Oct 2019 (Forum)
Hi, I'm after some advise/recommendations for vehicles that suit my requirements. I currently drive a 2015 diesel astra K which I used for commuting to work as I had a 70 mile round trip each day. About 3 months ago I moved much closer to work but my commute consists of stop/start driving. For ease, I'd really like to get an automatic as my left leg is currently getting an incredible workout each day. -
Toyota Verso - Safety of 7-seater cars 4 Sep 2017 (Forum)
We've been planning on trading in our 11-year-old Ford CMAX for a small 7-seater - only 2 kids but extra seats are needed for visiting family and friends (so not that often), on trips about town and maybe day trips further out of the city. But once someone pointed out the safety implications of having the third row of seats so close to the back of the car and we're wondering whether to reconsider. -

Ford Mondeo Estate 2001 - Mondeo Mk3 diesel ticking 28 Jul 2016 (Forum)
What I know: ticking noise from the engine, not terribly loud but easy to hear from inside the car it seems to come from somewhere on the drivers side of the engine when you lift the gas, the sound remains equally loud the ticking only occurs when engine is at normal temperature, not when it's cold the engine runs perfectly fine, normal amount of power and torque To me it sounds like ticking cams, but I've had only one car before so I could be wrong. We checked the oil level, it was only just enough so we filled it until right under the 'max' indicator. This didn't help unfortunately. We went to a dealer, but I'm not sure if he understood what sound we were referring to. When you open the bonnet to listen, the engine makes so much noise by itself that the ticking is hard to pick out. -
VW Up! vs Kia Picanto vs Fiat 500 - Your Views? 9 May 2021 (Forum)
I just wondered if anyone could offer any opinions please? Whatever car I get will be used, I’ve been looking at max 5/6 yrs old and under 30k miles. I’m looking at doing 4/5000 miles max myself, predominantly city driving although will be on the motorway occasionally. I’d prefer 3 door and to have Bluetooth although that isn’t a deal breaker! -
I commute 80 miles a day - should I buy an EV? 7 Jan 2020 (Ask HJ)
I am confused about which "green" car I should buy. I have a budget of £10k max and need to commute 40 miles each way without a charging point in my school. -

Astra L reg 1.6SE oil change 16 Oct 2003 (Forum)
I've just changed the oil on my 1.6 Astra 8v engine. When putting the oil in I made sure it was spot on the max mark - started the engine, let the oil circulate and checked again - it was two inches OVER the max mark. I assumed this was just because I'd moved the car slightly after filling the oil and was checking again on a slight slope (the car on a very slight camber and went on a brief test drive). -

Ford focus 02 1.6 Zetec - Loosing power steering fluid after MOT 10 Jul 2010 (Forum)
A quick glace at the road underneath the car revealed a rapidly growing pink puddle of power steering fluid. Having paid the MOT garage for some ford P/S fluid, (MC2 195-A, £20 a bottle, if you're wondering) I've filled it up and run it for a few minutes and the poorly sounding pump sounds a lot happier. However, when the engine is running, the fluid leaks with 1 drip every second or so from underneath the engine on the drivers side somewhere.
