  • Heater/blower problems. 92 escort. 28 May 2004 (Forum)
There is nothing at all if the knob points to the top vent alone - even with the fan on max. Garage has recently taken the dash off the replace the heater matrix, but could not see anything out of the ordinary ie blockages. It was doing it b4 the dash was taken off. Has anyine else had similar probs, it takes ages to demist the windscreen!

  • Zafira A (99-05 model) 1.6 Life - Conflicting advice on tyre pressures? 4 Dec 2011 (Forum)
It came with no manual, but I just found a PDF of it which seems to say the rear tyres should be at 46psi when fully laden. But the databases used by tyre companies say the max laden pressure is 30-something! This matters because the tyres fitted say "max pressure 44psi", and I guess if they are not suitable for the recommended pressures then she has a claim against the dealer...?

  • Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.6 DPF failure 24 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Ford won?t touch it because it?s out of warranty. I?m suggesting that the catastrophic failure is as a result of the faulty injectors that were fitted. Roll on the legal arguments. In the meantime I?
  • Ford remote locking keys 29 Nov 2002 (Forum)
How can I prove whether it is the key or the car that is faulty? Does anything need "reprogramming to make it work again? Can anyone explain in layman`s terms how this remote system works? If it is the key that is faulty , how do I obtain a new one...presumably from the local Ford dealer....and what sort of price is it? note: The only other key that I posess for this car is "Red" in colour and I was told that this is essential in order to obtain a replacement key.

  • Memories of `early` motoring to the coast. 9 Apr 2010 (Forum)
I have a memory of riding a Triumph  through a little village on the way to the coast in the mid 60`s (Bank Hols) and encountering a group of Police officers clustered around a table, at the side of the road. Can`t remember whether it was radar or those strips on the road. I think there was a Min i van or Ford Anglia pursuit car parked nearby too - first speed trap ever seen and all very civilized.
  • Do most cars sound the same these days? 2 Sep 2008 (Forum)
When I was a lad (late 70's to early 80's) I could tell pretty much what car was approaching just from the sound it made. From the whine of a Mini/metro gearbox and exhaust trump of a Moggy Minor to the whine of Pinto engined Fords and rattle of tappety Chrysler/Talbots I could identify pretty much anything.

  • K reg escort 1.4 CVH 10 Sep 2002 (Forum)
To date the following have been replaced: stepper motor (with a scrap yard item) map sensor temp sensor. Recent tests on a ford ecu computer showed no faults (s**s law played its part that day i'd suggest), but our questions lie mainly with the stepper motor given it's origins. Has anyone had any experience with these engines?
