• Oh no! Petrol into Diesel 28 Apr 2014 (Forum)
   Long day (getting up at 0130 UK time) and getting to bed at 22.30.   Went to get fuel just now and put 62l of unleaded into the S-Max which has the TDCi engine.  Drove 0.5 mile and engine cut out.  I knew as soon as it happened what I had done. RAC coming to the rescue at a cost of £199.  Doh!

  Does the new Scenic have a spare wheel (even just a spacesaver) or do the folding rear seats condemn it to a can of gunk and compressor like the S-Max? C4 Grand Picassos (without air suspension) manage a spare.

  Its an 04 and it might be time to have another one. But, has anyone heard when it will cease production? I know the S Max looks good and I wouldn't have two seats in the house, but have you seen the luggage cover position? Thieves look here please! The Alhambra is still the best for me. But would the purchase of a dying model be a sound move?

  I have just got a new (s/h) hand car and this morning topped up the Power Steering fluid with about 25cl (max) of water by mistake. Can someone please let me know if this will have any short/long term effects on the performance/lifespan of the power steering and, if so, what can I do to rectify this mistake.

  After my post earlier this month about 24 mpg around town, I want to ask you about a petrol smell in my car. May / m ay not be related. There is some sort of petrol or chemical smell in the c-max, the wife says it smells lie petrol. When I push the button for air re-circ, the smell disappears. Someone told me to change the pollen filter, but does it still not blow through the pollen filter when in re-circ mode?

  I want to buy a used car - I live in Peru and models are limited and there aren't any diesel cars after 2011. I have narrowed the choice down to: Ford Escape (Kuga) 1.6 (2013) Peugeot 3008 1.6 (2015) Korando 2.0 (2015) In terms of reliability, fuel consumption - would welcome opinions.   I've read on the internet of replacement windscreens not being sealed properly - which is worrying, as I think they are part of the structure on a Focus? The screen appears not to be a geuine Ford item, as the Ford badge is not there, instead there is another makers name and a small white sticker with what might be someone's initials on. It soon became apparent that the people I got the car from weren't too keen on doing any maintenence, so may have used a dodgy backstreet glass fitter.

  Hi, I have a '99/"V" Ford Focus with a Ford RDS 5000 Radio. All units with RDS capability have the facility to store the vehicle VIN in the audio unit memory. After following the instructions in the Ford Audio Guide supplied with the car, I have discovered that the VIN on my V5C & VIN Plate is 17 characters in length, and the RDS 5000 only has a 16 character memory, 16 also being the max. length stated in the Audio Guide.
