  Car manufacturers develop high speed EV charging network 3 Nov 2017 (News)
  European carmakers are joining forces to create a high speed charging network for electric vehicles.  The scheme, which has been jointly developed by BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen, will roll-out a fast charging network across Europe, with the first stations going live in Germany in late 2017. The network will use the Combined Charging System (CCS) and offer a charging power of up to 350kW, which should significantly reduce the time it takes to charge an electric car compared to existing systems. A BMW i3, for example, could be charged in less than five minutes, compared to the current 40 minutes at today's 50kW charging stations.

  General Motors 'industry's biggest online advertiser' 28 Mar 2008 (News)
  US automobile manufacturer General Motors (GM) is the biggest in the industry when it comes to online advertising, a new study has found. According to comScore research, the firm finished ahead of rivals Toyota and Ford in terms of total delivery last month. Indeed, GM put out some 1.7 billion (bn) advertisements on the internet in January, compared to Toyota (1.4 bn) and Ford (1.1 bn), the study added. The company has "led the auto industry" when it comes to distributing advertising online, commented comScore Advertising Solutions vice-president Alistair Sutcliffe.
