  So, Leaf prices have been announced, and I think Nissan have got it bang on. £23K for a mid-size hatch is dear of course, but personally I just cant get the 100 miles for £1 running cost out of my head. Especially after the once-a-week £60 pain I feel visiting the forecourt. 1 years fuel costs for me is approx £2700, or the price difference between the Leaf and a conventionally powered rival, which would probably depreciate much faster than a Leaf too.

  Hello, I have recently bought a used Nissan Almera Activ 1.5. On the first day itself I realised that it had two problems: (1) There was a grinding noise from the engine - something similar to one when driving down the slope in a smaller gear (2) the gear stick moved during accelaration and deceleration.

  I have a 6 month old Nissan X-trail 2.5 petrol auto. On a recent longish run it developed jerkiness in the gear changes. Some time later a warning light came on - this is the 'malfunction indicator' which warns of an 'engine control system malfunction'.

  My 1998 2.0 petrol automatic Nissan Primera had been good as gold from when I bought it last april on 26k miles to this summer. It now has 56k miles. Recently, though It has had a real problems which a host of franchises, independent and specialist garages have been unable to locate.

  MoT due end of this month so I put my 1995 Nissan QX 3.0 through MoT in Saturday. Everything passed but we have great difficulties getting it through emission. Car has done 125k. Printout as follows Fast Idle @ 3000rpm: CO = 0.287% (Max. 0.300%) *1 HC = 26ppm (Max 200ppm) Lambda = 1.004 (limits = 0.970 - 1.030) *2 Natural idle @ 675rpm: CO = 0.450% (Max. 0.500%) *3 *1 Started at 1.5% and I have to rev it to 6000rpm for more than a min to bring it back within limit @ 3000rpm *2 Fluctuate from 0.93 to 1.2 and drop again at 20 seconds interval.

  The Mondewoe has gone, got £330 for it. The new car is a Nissan Primera 2.2 DCi S, not as basic as it first seems. I thought that as its FIRST service is at 12000 miles I would ask HJs advice on running in and oil changes. My own thoughts were change oil and filter at 2000 miles for a good mineral oil to the Nissan spec and then at 6000 change again to full synthetic for diesel engines with changes at 6000 after that.

  My brother had another car run into the back of his car in July, his car being an ?X? reg Nissan Primera. There was no damage to the other party?s car although there was damage to the boot, bumper and under floor on the Primera. It was repaired three weeks later, and when he picked it up from the repairers, the airbag warning light was flashing indicating a fault.

  The Nissan X-Trail that Honest John drove off-road (road test April 2002), was that the 6 speed diesel sport version with the standard sport tyres or was it fitted with offroad tyres?

  3 months ago I purchased a 2.2 dCi Tino (136bhp model) for commuting to work, and have been very disappointed with the fuel economy I am getting. Nissan's combined mpg is 44mpg, I am averaging just 37mpg. My journey should be very favourable for achieving good figures.....my previous car, a 1997 Peugeot 406 1.8lx petrol averaged 37 mpg over the exact same journey, surely my 50,000 mile 5 year old Nissan should be bettering the ancient old petrol motor?

  Have been 'drawn' to scenics etc...but wife thinks they are too big, and I hear far too many reliability issues...so we have finally decided (ie I have been told) that a Nissan Note will be what we are likely to go for. Being in our 30's will be a novelty as all ote drivers seem...older. These appear to be reliable as they are Nissan...or am I ill informed? They are slightly 'higher' as we both have poor backs so like the ever-so-slight step 'into' rather than step 'down into' (we have test driven a couple and like them).

  Thanks to lots of help from the backroom and from HJ's roadtests and FAQs, I have narrowed my choice down to a Nissan Almera 5-door at about 1-2 years old, or a Citroen Berlingo multispace of similar age (the Berlingo is much less likely, too many reports of minor problems). I'm sure there will be plenty of people who would recommend other vehicles, but I'm beyond that point.
