  Hi All,   I have a Citroen C8 SX hdi 2.0ltr with an intermittent problem.  I drove it from England to the South of France and within 100 miles of motorway driving the car started to slightly judder and if i took my foot from the accelerator and pushed back down then it wasn't very responsive and slow to react, i could also see smoke from the back.

  I am negotiating to buy a 2002 (52) reg, Citroen Dispatch 1.9 Diesel, Non Turbo van. The van has done 80,000 miles, i have known the vans owner since it was new and it has never done a hard days work in its life. It has full service history, had its cambelt changed, plus a new clutch fitted.

  with the rear wheels raised the handbrake is holding firm yet pressing the brake pedal results in the wheels not holding firm??? I have read horror stories about citroen brakes.....have I bled them in the wrong sequence or have I missed something else? Someone also mentioned a "dosseur" valve on some citroens....what exactly is this and has the zx got one? I am really stumped on this one and would really appreciate some advice.

  Two questions: 1 - Seeing as the oil level has dropped so low, am i wise to get an oil and filter change done, regardless of Citroen's guidelines. 2 - If i don't get an oil change, i will need to top up the oil. Citroen recommend TOTAL QUARTZ 7000 (10W-40) or TOTAL QUARTZ 9000 (5W-40). What is the difference between 10W-40 and 5W-40, so which one should i go for, and is any other (cheaper) oil appropriate for use e.g. a Castrol or whatever.

  I went in to get the car fixed so i can px for my new car, so on the way to picking up my new car my citroen coughs and dies, no power at all, will not start, nothing. so the aa come out and i tell him about the recnt repairs, so he had a look at it, he says " citroen have fitted the diaphragm the wrong way so no fuel can get through" so i went back into citroen and they say the fuel pump has now gone but its nothing to do with the diaphragm they just fitted. so i spoke to 5 other garages and they all agree with the aa guy that the part was fitted wrong and has caused the further problem does this add up?
