    The local garage have had it back 3 times and still can't fix it.  I have now taken it to the Renault main dealer and they have said it needs a new motor costing £750.  Is it a coincidence that the brake pads were fitted and now the parking brake doesn't work or is it that they haven't reset or pressed something.

  Hi had MOT on Renault clio today it failed on these things; Nearside Front constant Velocity joint gaiter split Nearside streering wheel rack gaiter split Nearside front brake disc in such condition that its seriously weakened Exhaust emits an excessive level of metered smoke for non turbo charged engine Emissions failed too.

  Be gentle and it will potter along in a jerky fashion but sometime at 15mph especially uphill.  As the diagnostic is clear my local Renault garage are mystified. Even the usual Renault trained but not so expensive Renault expert cannot help. I am being told to replace the gearbox oil at £80 ltr total cost £400. Or a new gear box at £2000 or......

  The complexity of replacing headlights on many renaults has been discussed here before. I had a headlight replaced on my megane last december at a cost of £50. The bulb on the other side has just gone, so I rang the dealer to check the price, only to be told headlights are now covered by warranty, so it's booked in to get it done for nowt - no chance of getting the other £50 back though.

  I've only just bought the car 4 months ago from a Renault Dealer with a years warranty. Of course, Renault say this valve isn't covered by the warranty because it's a "component"! What do you reckon Honest John? s
