From todays Honest John's column, Daily Telegraph
"Really seeing something
A few weeks back, a yellow, high-visibility jacket arrived at my house, complete with carrying bag. It arrived out of the blue, compliments of Renault UK. I have driven a Scénic for the last five years and love it to bits, so perhaps this is a vote of thanks for my loyalty. Whatever, it is very welcome.

Honest John reply;
That is a very smart idea of Renault UK. Help keep your customers alive, then you have a better chance of repeat sales."
My comment;
It may be the sceptic in me, but perhaps so many Renaults are breaking down at the edge of the road, they now need to issue these jackets??

Well they are a legal requirement in many EU countries and a sensible thing to have in the car wherever you are so I think it is a bit of low cost publicity rather than an admission of poor reliability of the cars!
|
Rather jolly though AS (in view of the posts here and eleswhere) RF will be along in a mo no doubt to do a reailty check.
|
Any feedback from a major car company is to be welcomed. I own my first VW and I have NEVER had any feedback from them or the main dealers from whom I purchased the car - more's the pity, in this day and age.
|
BMW hound you. Phone calls post dealer visit, mailshots with forms to fill, forms in your car.
|
So do Toyota and Hyundai at least here in Dundee, after service - even though Toad the Supra is, after all, ten years old and an import; mind you, a nice one. (I think the whistle from the dump valve I put in puzzled them briefly !)
I think it is reassuring to be gently hounded.

Reality check PU? what really hurts is that I am the biggest Reggie defender on here and do I get a free bag through the post? Well do I? Go on Renault - Make my day!

Agree with you Armitage the reasons for giving these jackets out.
Aside, just wondering if Renault UK ever read the disparging Renault posts here?
Probably not!
|
Me too. I am terminally upset. Five Renaults and I don't get a bag either.
Maybe they're sending them out in batchs. Lowly Megane owners come last...
|
Nah, TVM owned a post Laguna.
|
Post Laguna? What's that?
|
Its smashed up so small it looks like a gate post.......

Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?
