  Right I have lent my C Max to friend and in return I have his 2002 Mercedes C class auto to drive. I think that it is tiptronic. Just so that i don't make mess of driving it - what is tiptronic and how does it differ from the normal auto? Which setting is best? Thanks

  A friends 2001 Focus makes a curious sound while you steer only to the right ( not left ) Had a quick drive today and the best way to discribe it is that it sounds like bouncing up and down on a bed with bedsprings. It's fine whilst driving straight ahead. Any ideas? TIA.

  After being outbid on ebay yet again for the video "roadcraft" i am still trying to obtain a copy.Wanting to take the IAM course i thought i'd get a copy of the video so as to learn and practice the "correct" way of driving before doing an observed drive. (News report today of woman fined £160 for eating apple - (filmed from police helicopter, evidently - now there's a sensible use of taxpayer's money...) P.   Another example of someone driving the wrong way on a motorway. This occurred in the rush hour and a picture was captured on a phone camera and published in the Daily M**l today. An amazing escape as the M way appeared to be busy and he was driving through between other vehicles.

  Sections of the motorway are sometimes 4 and 5 lanes wide and the traffic at present is fairly light. I will drive along in lane 2 or 3 on this section doing about 65mph gradually overtaking HGV and slower vehicles. The number of idiots who drive up right behind me, tailgate me until I pull in then they are off like a shot from a gun.

  I was driving my work vehicle last June and hit a moped who was in wrong lane and it was my right of way to go.  Police came etc and turns out I wasn't insured on that vehicle. I was under full belief and was told I was insured.

    Researched and found that this function is done by a pump bolted onto the diesel pump, its a finned alluminium block held on by 4 bolts and the suggestion was that the drive shaft had sheared.  Removed this block, which is a pump,  and sure enough the drive shaft end which locates into a drive slot had broken thus there was no drive to the pump so fuel was not getting to the diesel pump.

  Hi, My Girl Friend has a 2004 1.6 Litre engine Streetka, this issue is very strange, basically, when we start the car on a cold engine, it starts fine, if we drive it somewhere and stop the car and start it again straight away after stopping, it starts fine, if we leave the car for a few hour after driving it, it starts fine, HOWEVER if we drive it somewhere, and leave it for 30 minutes - 1 hour (whilst doing the food shop for example) when we start the engine again, not all the cylinders start it seems, when you accelerate it sounds like not all the cyclinders are firing, after a few seconds the engine management light flashes, however after driving for a couple of minute, it seems to sort itself out and the engine light goes out and sounds like all cylinders are firing!

  Also not the extra cost of purchasing a diesel etc. Current real mpg is 56mpg. With hardly any town and moterway driving. Mostly clear B roads. Drive carefully upto 50mph normally. .................................. My Audi A1 is a diesel and does regular regens which i have to drive the long way home to allow it to complete its cycle.

I have just had my driving license revoked on medical grounds, this despite being allowed to drive for 5 months while they did investigations & having both my GP & psychiatrist saying I am fit & perfectly safe to drive.

  Hi, I have a problem with the drive belt routing. I've spent ages trying to figure this one out but still have drawn a blank! I've fitted a new cambelt, tensioner and waterpump and correctly tensioned the cambelt and replaced the bottom, middle and top covers.
