  So after paying £9300 for the repairs, a day after getting the car back the engine light came back on. They sent an engineer to the house to check it over, he said it was the DPF clogged and he done what was needed now the light is off. The next day driving the car the light was back on again. They are now saying we need to replace the DPF system and EGL cooler costing £2500 saying “This unfortunately seems to be defective as a consequence of the failed engine which has now been replaced.”.

• SEAT Alhambra - Error code P2563 11 Sep 2024 (Forum)
  Hi stumped on this one- I’ve got a 61 plate Alhambra 1.9tdi, always been super reliable till the turbo recently went and was refurbished, afterwards all was good till the coil light started flashing and the car went into limp mode a diagnostic gave error code P2563 turbo boost control position sensor circuit range/performance, can’t find this sensor and the fault is stopping the dpf regeneration- spent money on it don’t really want to spend much more- is it this sensor is it the actuator or something else?? Help please

  Now we hear about Subaru s dissasterous  attempts , Mazda CX5 destroying themselves and even the Yaris diesel with DPF breaking the tradition of peerless reliability. But at least Toyota accepted the criticism and arranged a generous claim arrangement. OK diesels are not popular in the US, Japan or Australia but it’s so unusual to level a complaint across all these Japanese Marques .

  When the skoda comes off lease i want to buy a car that will; only be used to pull a 1500kg caravan twice a year, be used for short town based comutes(10-15) the rest of the time, is quiet and comfortable and has a large boot. I was thinking of petrol as i am concerned about dpf issues. Budget about £8,000. Your thoughts....(can include sell caravan!).

  Treated myself to 2 new front tyres before our predicted "bad winter" as tread down to less than 3mm, and the original fitting kumhos have developed cracks between the treads Car still as boringly efficient as ever. 45 mpg local and 50 on a run, with no dpf/egr etc. Bought tyres online 195/55/17 Avon zv5  from F1 autocentre here in Colchester, Used voucher code found on vouchercode site and tyres were a mere £113.81 for 2 fitted and balanced and quicly done.

  I see that it cinsidered illegal to remove the DPF partly because do so interfers with the emissions. So why does not 'chipping' an engine fall into the same category, because I cannot believe that this action does not affect the emissions? Maybe this is considered a grey area?
