If I don't have the emissions fix done will my car fail the MoT emissions test?

Should have the emissions fix done on my 2010 Volkswagen Passat? It has 120,000 miles on the clock. If I don't have it done will it affect the MoT emissions test?

On an engine that has done 120,000 miles the EGR, the injectors and probably the DPF as well are unlikely to be able to cope with the extra work they will have to do after the NOx emissions fix. It will only fail the MoT smoke opacity test if it would have failed anyway. However, it was stated on BBC Watchdog on Wednesday night that VAG would carry out all additional work found necessary on cars up to 160,000 miles.
